  • Summary: Based on the 2007 live-action feature film, Transformers: The Game lets gamers control the outcome in the battle for Earth as they choose to protect it as Autobots or destroy it as Decepticons. Players experience the unstoppable power and massive scale of their favorite Robots in Disguise such as BumbleBee, Barricade and others. As the Transformers robot's war comes to Earth, gamers make the choice to join the Autobots in protecting our planet or to join the Decepticons in destroying it. With dual campaigns, the fate of the world is in players' hands. Instantly change from a larger than life robot to a high-powered vehicle such as a sports car, fighter jet or helicopter. Players crush, topple and wreck every object, including buildings and vehicles, in their path or use the objects as weapons. An unprecedented line-up lets gamers experience the massive scale, unique abilities and sheer strength of an army of characters from the Transformers universe when they choose to play as Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ironhide, Starscream, BumbleBee and more. For head-to-head battles, fans engage in melee combat that reflects each Transformers robot's character, scale, weight and power along with melee weapons and special moves unique to each character. The game's ranged combat offers a wide array of projective weapons designed to take out enemies from afar. [Activision] Expand

  1. Transformers doesn't make any radical changes to the classic action game genre, but it does have likeable characters and top-notch production values, coupled with enjoyable gameplay.
  2. In the end, Transformers delivers over-the-top action with wild abandon, and leaves most of the more complex elements of good gameplay behind coughing from the dust kicked up by a giant transforming war machine.
  3. Transformers The Game is as underwhelming as Transformers The Movie. A lot of missed potential. Too bad.
  4. This is the epitome a game that was quickly thrown together with the most basic and juvenile concepts videogaming has.

Ok, Ian, no game is worth 0/10. Seriously. This game is not worth 0/10. I've played LOADS of worse games than this, but, I confess I have played better games than this. When you first play it you will find it tremoundously fun, as you knock robts into buildings and watch them crumble, but soon you start to see little cracks in the game design... 1)While the graphics do look nice, some textures and car models are extremely bland.2) The physics can be awful; hit a car at about 20 mph in vehicle mode, and it will go flying into a building. If you smah a building the rubble will fall like pieces of foam. 3) The missions are constantly repeated, but with different transformers in them. 4) You would of thought tanks would be extremely armoured, wouldn't you? Well not in Transformers the game's case, since they've obviously used the same script they used for the car, but with a different coating. Touch it and it will set on fire. And then you see the helicopters, about 5 times as hard to destroy as tanks. Strange.

Sure it has all these problems, but you will always find joy out knocking an enemy into a building, or finding the last allspark piece, or using a tree to play golf with the tree as the club and random passing cars as the golf-ball, or finding the nuclear power plant place where there are loads of exploding barrels, and knocking an enemy into them, and sitting back and watching the fireworks, or even cruising around, looking at everything. The game has a lot to suck up, although the bad things about it would want to make you spew it all out again. A pretty decent game, if flawed, and some fun, for a while. 7/10.

  2. well, I'd actually give it a 5.5/10, but that rounded up is 6/10, it's an alright 3rd person shooter that has a few good elements, but i don't see how someone could give it 0/10, really. Expand
  3. The game was kind of boring and repetitive. Not the best transformers game made, but is a start, i hope to see better transformers games because i really like the films. I think that miss in the game action, present in the films. Expand

This game is absolutely terrible!!! i don't know who's responsible for letting this game get shipped out in this condition but it39;s as if they did no testing, at all, and those responsible should be banned for EVER from making any more video games. A lot of the game has you driving around, while playing as autobots anyway, and the driving physics are so bad it is beyond frustrating. I think a bar of soap would handle better than some of these vehicles. The fighting is nothing more than rapidly and repeatedly pressing the square button, as your guns are virtually useless, especially against the bosses. You will get no shots in on a boss, as he will raise his shields every time you shoot! The only good thing about this game is that i got it on sale for $30 instead of $60. This is far and above the worst game i've played in years. Expand
