Mar 5, 201280Steering and handling is a tiny bit sluggish, but we'll take that over twitchy any day. [Apr 2012, p.56]
-
Feb 20, 201280If you're looking for a solid racing game for PS Vita, F1 2011 is everything you need. F1 fans can't miss it!
-
Feb 27, 201278F1 2011 for the PSVITA is an enjoyable game, which should have been more polished and include more features for players who already own another version of the game, and make the most of the new features of the console. It might not be perfect, but it is the only simulator in the PSVITA launch and a recommended buy for those looking for a realistic racing game.
-
Feb 14, 201278Not quite the game its big brother is, but it's not far behind. It straddles the fun/sim divide well with fast, fluid racing. [March 2012, p.92]
-
Apr 17, 201276Has everything you expect from a formula game, but it is way too easy - the AI is too slow even in the hard-level. Textures are quite ugly, too. [Apr 2012]
-
Mar 8, 201270F1 2011 is a racing game with qualities that far outshine the flaws and it's a really good simulator, no matter if you're are a fan of Formula One or not. But remember that you need to have the time to commit to the game in order to get the most out of it.
-
Mar 7, 201270Even with a few minor glitches, in the end F1 2011 is a quite competent conversion of last year's title to the Vita. And anyway, it´s not like you´ve got a lot of choice, when it comes to F1-Games.
-
Mar 2, 201270F1 2011 is a great handheld addition to the franchise, although it could really do with an injection of personality.
-
Feb 26, 201270The amount of gameplay options and slightly realistic customisations help drive this title past the muddy graphics and unfriendly controls.
-
Feb 21, 201270Gamers with more interest in the spectacle of F1 than actually being good at driving will probably like this very much. And at least the good points bode very well for the next one.
-
Feb 20, 201270F1 2011 isn't quite up to the excellent standard of the console version, but it's still far, far better than the 3DS instalment.
-
Feb 24, 201265Better than the 3DS version, but definitely bland if compared to the home versions: PS vita deserves more.
-
Mar 14, 201264Casual fans will be entertained and impressed at the Vita's capabilities, but serious racers will be disappointed. [Apr 2012, p.96]
-
Apr 2, 201261We would like to write that Sumo Digital has successfully transferred the PS3 version to the Vita, but alas, a whole list of shortcomings prevents us from doing so. The broken AI and broken controls ensure that you'll never cross the finish line in one piece. [April 2012, p.100]
-
May 5, 201260F1 2011 could have been so much more. We can't complain in terms of content and online functionalities, but why does it look like a port of a PSP-title and slide the cars across the road like they're driving on ice? You'll learn to deal with this last flaw, but it does greatly diminish the racing experience.
-
Apr 11, 201260In the end the experience of piloting an F1 car around the world's premiere race tracks isn't here. This is one racer that gets the black and white flag for bad behavior. [April 2012, p74]
-
Mar 21, 201260F1 2011 is no more than an inferior port of the original version.
-
Feb 28, 201260Formula 1 is a game developed in a hurry for the Vita launch. That means a substantial lack of precision and refinements that lower the global quality of the production.
-
Feb 27, 201260What is difficult to forgive though, are the distracting drops in frame rate at key times which make the game frustrating to play.
-
Feb 22, 201260The second downfall, and possibly a deal breaker for some sim fans, are the graphics. From a distance the game looks great, but up close and personal it loses the detail and sharpness that you would expect on the 5 inch OLED screen.
-
Feb 20, 201260F1 2011 is a laudable attempt at scaling down a sophisticated simulation racer for a handheld platform, but it would have benefited from stronger AI and more challenge. In its defense, it caters well for newcomers due to its casual Challenges mode and forgiving level of difficulty, but still falls marginally short of expectations.
-
Feb 13, 201260At least there's four-player multiplayer to alleviate the hollow AI racing. There's an even bigger spanner in the spokes than dim-witted drivers: it looks perplexingly terrible. The tarmac's shine and rubbering still pleases, but tracks themselves are super-low detail.
-
Feb 20, 201255F1 2011 is not a good game. The game has a lot of problems, way bigger than the home console versions. Bad A.I, unpolished visuals and an easy and too arcade handling condemn the game to a mediocrity that the franchise doesn't deserve.
-
Mar 19, 201251Well, you won't be bored while playing F1 2011 on your PlayStation Vita, so we guess that's a plus. You will, however, most likely get frustrated with the overall lack of realism, the amount of framerate problems and the incredibly weak graphical presentation.
-
Mar 11, 201250F1 2011 on the PS Vita is just as disappointing as on the 3DS. The game doesn't play the same as the superior console-versions and visually it's lacking quality.
-
Mar 2, 201248The visuals are clearly better than in the disastrous 3DS version but still this racer is far away from taking the pole position. Poor AI, an inconsistent penalty system and the reduced content are disappointing.
-
Mar 12, 201245F1 fans will be drawn in by the licensed racers and circuits from the 2011 Formula 1 season, the idea of using the DRS rear-wing control, and KERS boosting abilities. They may even be entranced by the depth of the career mode or the number of race options both online and off. But when it comes down to the presentation -- endless menus, muted graphics, and the races themselves -- many will lose interest in F1 2011 very quickly.
