Titan Attacks! is a simple yet straightforward game that wants you to have fun. All of you, saviors of Earth who enjoy fending off wave after wave of enemies, must play it, although it's not really hard and sometimes is not what you would call a challenge.

It's basic, but it's also super-addictive, so if you don't mind a walk back in time, it might be worth checking out.

This one pays homage to games like Galaga and Space Invaders. As you might expect from that the goal is to shoot down enemies before they make it down to the bottom of the screen and get a high-score. Modern touches are present however that make for some new objectives.

For one thing it's level based. You have to make it through all the different planets in order to beat the game. Boss battles are also present as well as an in-game currency system that is used to upgrade your ship. These modern touches are actually where the biggest issues are present.

The whole idea of getting money from destroying enemies in order to upgrade you ship is a good one. However it's brought down by the fact that you have to pay in order to refill your health. It's hard to buy meaningful upgrades when you are too busy buying health in order to just survive the next wave.

The harder levels are the ones where you'll get the most money like you would expect. The problem is the easier ones barely give you any at all. You're barely able to buy a single upgrade before a tough level. It's not a huge issue as the game isn't too hard, but it can lead to some irritating deaths. Deaths that will send you back to the starting level of the current planet you are on.

The gameplay itself is old-school solid and pretty fun. Shooting is slower than it needs to be though. You have to wait for your bullet to disappear before you can fire again. So that either means you have to hit an enemy or if you miss wait for the bullet to go off-screen before you can shoot again. Buying an upgrade that lets you shoot more than one bullet at a time helps with this, but they are one of the most expensive upgrades.

It's a solid old-school game that will please those gamers who like taking nostalgic trips to the past every now and then. Some modern touches do bring the experience down, so it might just be better off to dust of the original games it's trying to mimic, but there's still some fun to be had here. If you like retro throwbacks this is for you. Those with more modern tastes might be better off looking elsewhere.

Also just a heads up the developer dropped the ball by not including a cross-save feature. This means that in order to make real progress in the game you are better off picking one version and sticking with that one. I personally found ti to be the most fun on PS3 despite the fact that it's identical to the Vita version. Just a little heads up.

Wow! Im in top 10 (with highest score of 9999999 (dont remember how many 9 though :D)! And it was quite fun... but... after you finish 4 or 5Wow! Im in top 10 (with highest score of 9999999 (dont remember how many 9 though :D)! And it was quite fun... but... after you finish 4 or 5 planets it repeats itself and when you buy every item available on first playthrough youve pretty much seen everything and Youre virtually immortal... This is when the game gets boring because You repeat over and over same planets with same enemies... and i only went to get highest score because its the only game i was able to - its that easy! :D
    Graphic 5/10
    Sound 5/10
    Gameplay 7/10 on first playthrough..
Verdict: If You want to be in top 10 of online leaderbord but, like me lack the skill to do it on every other game - get this one! :) If not - pass :D. Though Id reccomend it if You can get it for free cause its quite fun for first 2 hours.

That being said I think anyone who loves Arcady type games will enjoy it. It is like I said a space invaders clone, you earn points by moving back and forth along the bottom of the screen shooting down aliens which at the end of each round can spend to restore your shields or use to but new weapons and upgrades. My biggest complaint is that shields don't replenish in between rounds and. They are not cheap to buy. If you have ps plus snag it, if not I would only buy it for like a buck on a flash sale or if you are into this type of old school arcade style game. Expand
