  1. King Kong for the PSP might lack the emotional impact of the console version but it does not fail to bring us all the visual beauty and brilliant blend of playing as either man or King of the savage jungle.
  2. 69
The control is decent enough for some fun dino hunting, the kind of deep jungle danger that we haven't had much of since the original Turok (and haven't had any of on PSP), but the handling of the story is messy and confusing.
  3. It is most definitely King Kong in the palm of your hand, but the sacrifices and compromises made to get it there ultimately suck away much of its appeal.
  4. 50
A half-hearted attempt to make the game even more ubiquitous than it already is. Very little effort was put into making it a compelling experience in its own right, and thus, you have very little incentive to experience it.
  5. 50
It is considerably shorter than the console versions and retails for approximately the same price, there is nothing to come back to after the game is finished and unfortunately that will be far sooner than you will wish.
  6. When you look at the poor quality graphics, short gameplay and relatively empty environments, it becomes rather obvious that King Kong for the PSP was rushed to coincide with the theatrical release of the movie.
  7. Simply put, although the content is taken from the console version (though there's much less of it), the controls kill most of the experience. [Apr 2006, p.88]

The game is good but the levels are kind of confusing what is the point? What is the destination through the islands horrible bowels? I don't really get the purpose of the game and what you are supposed to be working towards. Expand

I thought this game was pretty good. The best parts were the graphics and the sound. The graphics were amazing with good textures (where most PSP games fail). The models were highly detailed. The sound is great too, the voice acting was great. The Sound FX are good. The one huge problem is the game length. The longer levels are around 10 minutes, while some are about 3 min. The level I was looking forward to the most, the T-rex level, was only 2 minutes. It was the best level in the game, but shortest too. The game only takes a little more than 3 hours, but that is time well spent. Another bad part was how you are alone as Jack. The game is really messed up because of that. Some really great moments are when fighting the larger raptors, because it takes strategy. This is a great game. Expand

A massively cut-down version of the home console games. No companions, you're on your own. No idea where you're going or why. This is half a game at best.Tthe Kong levels are great fun but too few and really short. The Jack levels are messy and confusing. And the whole thing is over in what feels like minutes. An all Kong sequel would not be amiss if you're listening Ancel. Expand

Very linear game, with no aims of such - just troll through the levels, fight the enemies - put some wood in another piece of wood and turn it, open door - move, kill some more baddies - ohhh switch to kong, same old same old kill some baddies, climb, jump ... roar. Game complete. Very boring, very ancient - nothing new in this genre at all other than some nice sounds and boring visuals for the PSP. Avoid. Expand

The game was okay on PSP but the film is better as a big monkey jumps around for 3 hours. King Kong made a good point about stereo typing monkeys which saddly is missing in this game. I think I'll get the GBA version of this game. Expand
