  • Summary: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope." In it, players assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny. Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos. The Secret Apprentice doesn't just Force push enemies into walls - he Force pushes enemies through walls. The Secret Apprentice doesn't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he Force grips them in midair, zapping them with lightning, then dropping them to the ground to explode like a bomb. In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader. Visit locations such as Episode III's Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk and the floral Felucia, the junk planet Raxus Prime, plus an Imperial TIE fighter construction facility. Decisions made by players throughout the game determine the path of the story, including multiple endings that will rock Star Wars continuity as they know it. [LucasArts] Expand

  1. While the story and settings are the same as on the PS3, the levels and the way the apprentice develops are completely different. [Oct 2008, p.76]

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an incredibly original and rich experience, and may be the best handheld Star Wars game to date!
  3. 75
Uninspired level design and some tedious enemy battles mar an experience that gives you power over the Force like we've never really seen before. While it's far from perfect, Star Wars fans will find that it's worth playing through simply for its story and the ability to use the Force in fairly awesome ways.

Force Unleashed may not be the mind-blowingly awesome "Star Wars" game that it was hyped to be, but thanks to some cool play mechanics, a great story, and a couple fun extras, it's still a fun (if flawed) ride.
  5. The wonky camera gets in the way, but extra modes make this a Force-powered adventure worth taking.
  6. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed gives us the opportunity to go over to the dark side in order to enjoy addictive, durable and fun gameplay. It's also a bit monotonous, but nothing out of the ordinary problems of a game which has a very decent PSP version.
  7. 42
Instead of providing a streamlined alternative to the more ambitious console iterations, the PSP version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an abridged disappointment.

This is by far the best psp game out. And possibly the best stars wars game besides kotor. I've played and beaten the ps2 version and I thought it was excellent. Even on a past Gen console. But when I played this I was astounded by the decent graphics and game play. The story is amazing. This game does not get the credit it deserves. Expand

SO MUCH CONTENT! awesome bonus content that's not on the 360 or ps3 version! historic missions, force duels, order 66 missions. This game is awesome. Set backs: bad video graphics, and freezes temporarily while loading data. Other than that this game is amazing. Great in game graphics. Expand

I gave this game an 8 because the story line is different from the xbox 360 version and playstation 3 version. The game stands a strong 8 because the game play is GREAT. Another down side i found which is minor is the inability to move abjects with the force up and down like the bigger counsel game. Expand
