  • Summary: [WiiWare] A simple yet exhilarating action game where you control the bubble blowing dragons Bub and Bob, trapping enemies in bubbles and then popping them. You can play all 100 of the Standard Mode rounds, which faithfully recreate the nostalgic arcade game, or try 100 new Arrange Mode rounds, which allow up to four players to play on stages with exciting new features such as new enemies and stage layouts. There are also Super Mode rounds for you to enjoy. Obtain the true ending by solving puzzles hidden on each stage to defeat the final boss. You can also play Ranking Mode where you compete with players from around the world to get the highest score by registering your scores via Nintendo WFC for each game mode. On top of all that, you can enjoy a further 100 rounds, facing off against new boss characters by purchasing the "Expert Mode 1" and "Expert Mode 2" add-on content. [Nintendo] Expand

  1. Different from the American distributor, Taito knows how to raise the value of its WiiWae titles: knowing the original NES version may be bought by 500 Nintendo Points, they have launches Plus! with double stages, multiplayer, new items, enemies and songs, besides the better graphs, chart of points and a collectible catalogue for only 100 additional points.
  2. A decent return to form for a classic series that manages to combine the old with the new delivering an enjoyable experience for everyone that is entertaining on almost every level.
  3. Much better value than the straight NES port. [June 2009, p.88]
  4. While the gameplay at its core remain faithful enough to the oh so loveable original the presentation is severely flawed. Add some technical issues to the mix and what you get is a product that feels as cheap as it feels soulless.

plays well enough and 4-player is fantastic, but the double-jump bug and the fact that enemies pop quicker EARLIER in the game rather than later is a huge problem.
the NES version is the best, by far. if you never played all 216 levels of that one, you're missing out!

  2. It's hard to screw up a classic but square has done it well. The jump and re-jump (if thats what they call it these day's) by holding down ze-button does not work the way it used to? I have found myself trapped at the bottom of many pits and some thing this micro and yet so mega shouldn't be over looked. Or maybe my Wii is just broken and I'm the only one having this problem?
