Kingdom shelves any cleverness, attaching training wheels to your creativity for the first two-thirds of the game. It's not until the last few islands that you're given an invitation to be creative.
  2. There was plenty here to explore and build, and while the story might have been on the forgettable side, I really enjoyed the focused Sim-style gameplay.
  3. If you enjoyed MySims, then you will enjoy MySims Kingdom more.
  4. The "cute" graphics and sound may be overkill (especially once you hear the "Sim-speak" gibberish), but kids and fans of the original game will heartily accept this quest.
  5. A charming ‘chill out’ game best suited to younger players. A good candidate for the Christmas stocking.
  6. A totally cute and adorable playground, this time with more story and less making. [Dec 2008, p.69]
  7. With its cheerful style and accessible gameplay, MySims Kingdom steps out of The Sims' shadow to stand on its own as a fun adventure.
  8. A great game! We’re having a blast with it. It looks good, and plays great. There are a few things I would like added or changed, mainly to have a more zoomed out camera view, and to have more things to do that involve creativity like painting, drawing or designing. However, these are mostly minor quibbles.
  9. MySims – Kingdom is a nice adventure for the younger generation, which is also able to impress experienced gamers.
  10. MySims Kingdom is little more than old Sims in new clothing. That being said, it’s another strong release in the franchise and a sure-fire purchase for those suffering Simsism.

MySims Kingdom is a safe sequel with just enough improvements to satisfy fans of the first game. While some enhancements have arrived free of sacrifices, others have come with trade-offs.
  12. Building on top of the creative concept of MySims and adding a flavor of adventure, MySims Kingdom adds up to a compelling adventure in the same vein as the Lego adventures. The humour is charming and funny, the puzzles are interesting and the characters are lovable. MySims Kingdom is a really great game, but there are some major flaws hampering the experience, such as potentially game breaking bugs, which ultimately leads to a lower score.
  13. Featuring humour and a lovely visual style, it leaves the bad and tedious parts of the original MySims behind.
  14. A simpler, more focused MySims experience. Shorter than the original but much nicer to look at, well written and quite funny at times. Who needs the real world? [Christmas 2008, p.50]
  15. Other than that, this is a must-own for Wii devotees and Sims fans alike. [Dec 2008, p.100]
  16. While Kingdom retains the cute, colorful visual design and many non-playable characters from its predecessor, the new game's experience is altogether different: there's a journey to take, varied objectives, more social interaction and Incredible Machine-like puzzle solving.
  17. MySims Kingdom is all about the experience and it takes you on a charming journey where you get to meet and greet some brilliant characters. Yet, as an adventure, MySims is now in the company of the best that Wii has to offer and it just can't live with the likes of Galaxy and Twilight Princess. Still, provided you have some heart, this Kingdom packs more than enough personality to make it well worth a visit.
  18. Kingdom is a pleasant evolution from the previous game. It's not so rough on the edges and places the player on a more focused and humorous adventure. The construction system also evolved, and the younger ones will definitely enjoy it.
  19. I'd definitely suggest MySims Kingdom to the younger gamers out there, and while I don't think that it's going to offer much long-term appeal for the older crowd, young Wii owners will probably enjoy the building mechanics, light questing, and social interactions and links between the characters.

This game is really surprisingly awesome. The dialogue and animations are SUPER cute and funny in a way that adults can enjoy while still being safe for kids (like a Pixar movie). The construction is great, the characters/levels look cool, and there is hardly any load times. GREAT imporvements over the original. Buy this game (: Full Review »

Well worth looking at. The control system can be a little fussy at times but you'll quickly forget about that when you are laughing at all the cute characters and craziness on screen. Full Review »

WHY HAS THIS GAME GOT SUCH A HIGH RATING!?

I'm a big fan of The Sims series and just like MySims this game is horrible. The gameplay is
really boring and the quests are just build stuff or collect crap and YOU CAN'T LOSE! THERE IS NO CHALLENGE TO THIS GAME!

This game isn't even game it's a massive chore that is absolutely no fun to play.
