  • Summary: Featuring a remarkable wireless controller experience, the Nintendo Wii console invites players into game worlds and activities like never before. Whether they're young or old, expert gamers or beginners, Wii players will express themselves with intuitive motion control using the Wii Remote: a flick of the wrist to swing a baseball bat or tennis racket, a backswing and follow-through to send a golf ball flying over a pristine fairway. The Wii may not be as powerful as the PS3 and XBOX 360, something you probably know. But it still is a great console. Compared to other 7th gen consoles the Wii has a better game selection and unlike other consoles, is directed to a more wider audience age-wise. A lot of great games like Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess, and Sonic Colors are commercial success's and are widely critically acclaimed.
Overall, I recommend buying a Wii (or Wii U because of backwards compatibility), and to be honest, you WON'T regret it. :)

This console, while not as powerful as the Xbox 360 or PS3, has made a bigger impact on the industry. It introduces motion controls and adds more depth to certain games. Expand

People need to realize the REAL definition of being a gamer: playing a game because you like it. It's not all about sitting in your chair for 10 hours a day playing bloody and gory games. Nintendo innovates, Microsoft and Sony imitates. Expand

The Wii has a lot of potential, don't get me wrong it's still a great console, but it's not as good as it could be, I mean they could do so much more with the motion controlled gaming if the game developers would put the same amount of effort into Wii games that they put into the other systems like the PS3 or the 360, so many games that come out for this system just seem rushed and the controls just don't work at all, I mean I've seen games on this system that make the motion controls excellent, but so many other games can't even read most movements, or game developers just through in a couple of flicks of the wrist and call that motion controlled gaming, same goes for the graphics, I understand that the Wii doesn't have the same graphical power as the other consoles out there, but there are some game developers have still worked around this by at least giving it a unique graphical style, so many other developers just toss out some ugly game with crappy controls to make a quick buck, but the game developers who put time and effort into the games have truly created some fantastic games for the Wii, and honestly it works well even with the graphical limitations if the developers work hard enough, and honestly there are some fantastic games available, this is a great, under-appreciated console. This system was amazing at first first and it is also really well made like the gamecube it has some classic games you will never forget but at the end of 2008 bad things started to happen with the system games started to suck besides the 2 or 3 exclusives each year after 2008 nintendo threw out nothing but crappy party games that no one cared about to top it all of the game system barely increased the graphics system from gamecube but wii has some of the most if not the most influential games of this generation Expand
