  1. There just isn't enough to this title to make it worth 1000 points, and if you need a frenzied shooter fix, you could do a whole lot better than Pirates: The Key of Dreams.
  2. A game where there's fun to be had, but it has a very finite shelf life.
  3. games(TM)
Demands a very different strategy from practically any other kind of shoot-'em-up. [Aug 2008, p.119]
  4. For a first shot at a WiiWare title, it’s not a horrendous effort from Oxygen, though it is overpriced. It can be good fun, but that feeling just doesn't last long enough.
  5. n-Revolution Magazine UK
The single-player sinks, but the multiplayer battle mode floats our boat. [Issue#24, p.24]
  6. If you're looking for a single player game, you will come away severely disappointed. It's just not long enough to warrant the high price tag of 1000 Wii Points, it’s too repetitive, short lived and there is no reason to go back to it. If you're looking for a multiplayer game, then the battle mode is actually relatively decent.
  7. A short single-player mode makes the 1,000 Wii Points price tag a little on the high side, but the multi-player mode makes up for it. A solid start into what will hopefully be a long lasting franchise.
