    This game is awesome. The mechanic of using the pointer to create items to solve puzzles adds so much. Brought back so much I loved about the Sands of Time and made the combat more fun but I could still play this game without combat and probably like it better. Only drawback is that it is so much easier than Sands of Time. Every platform puzzle was telegraphed on what you need to do.This game is awesome. I do like that pointing will tell you if you can make a jump or not which I hated about Sands of Time when I fell to my death on what looked like a possible jump. Overall I recommend to anybody who loved Sands of Time because you might like it even better. Expand

    The good thing is that Ubisoft listened and decided to give again to the players a prince under their command because the previous game felt uncontrolled. They also decided to give them more fighting action by throwing several enemies at once, more than six together and in several rounds. (9)

    The bad thing is that the combat is not gratifying as there are no combos and the use of the Wiimote is limited to freezing enemies. The other bad thing is that it feels as a subject-matter watered down version of the previous game [The prince of Persia "animated"] because it also has a tree that is central to the story. The "mysterious princess" role is present again however this time the mystery is quite obvious. (5)

    Fortunately, the game took the good platforming aspects of the previous iteration and improved them as our prince can now do magic, powerful enough to make him practically fly. The creation spells allow him to place hooks on most walls, jump springs on the floor and to create a force shield that suspends him on mid air so that he can jump in any direction or freeze enemies that touch the magical bubble. This aspect of the game is what makes it fun as it provides with more than one way to cross the numerous obstacles that the Prince is so famous for overcoming; this is a very welcome feature as it disrupts the typical straightforwardness of scripted gameplay. (8)

    Regarding its graphics, there are no noticeable frame rate slowdowns but there's a visual bug when changing the Prince's look to the "Sands of time" because his lips won't move at all when he speaks. The game environments are nice, being two of the last four stages beautiful, but they feel small compared to the other games', specially those of "Warrior within", which was criticized for having too much backtracking even though it lengthened the game experience considerably. Casting this aside gave players a game that it is fun but strike as short. (7,5)

    Luckily, as the players progress, new extras will be unlocked and they come in the forms of extra stages in 2D [typical "Prince of Persia" gameplay], weapons from this and previous games as well as apparel from "The sands of time" and "The two thrones". (8)

    The controls are mostly responsive though uninspiring however swinging the Wiimote drastically can lead to accidentally pressing the home button thus unexpectedly freezing the game, usually during combat as it requires waving the Wiimote as well as the Nunchuck. (6)

    The camera can be a hindrance, a fatal one, as it tends to set itself on scripted angles that are not ideal for calculating jumps. The players will usually think they are facing a wall when they will not. This can be corrected by manually placing the camera behind the Prince but it does not always work properly and players will have to force the camera angle by holding the "c" button to aim the prince together with the camera. (4)

    The sound aspect of the game is good with a lot of crystal-like sounds that usually convey magic and fairy dust. There's also a watery-windy feeling to the sound effects that feels nice and refreshing.( 8,5)

    The voice acting gives way to mixed reactions as Zhara's, the genie, portrayal ranges from fine to terribly overacted. The Prince's voice acting is good and constant through the game. The writers decided to provide the players with some banter between the Prince and Genie to alleviate the typical loneliness of the series however though welcome as this feature may be, Zhara's performing inconsistencies can make it an annoyance. (7)

    Overall, it is a good game with lots of fighting, some story scripting and regular voiced acting. It also throws some puzzles whose difficulty ramps up exponentially without making them unsolvable. It is an OK experience.

    At its heart, the game's mechanics have a lot of potential, and at their best remind me of puzzle-platforming greats like Klonoa. But in overestimating what the Wiimote can do, developer Ubisoft has made a game that eventually collapses under its own weight.
