Rise of the Guardians isn't entirely unpleasant, but even if you're looking for a co-op game that's safe for the whole family, you can find better options on the market.
The curse of the license strikes again. The action reminds me of Gauntlet and actually the Guardians stay as shallow and monotonous as the retro classic. No challenge and no variety make it difficult to appreciate the colorful art design.
A game mainly intended for a young audience. Those who saw the movie and wanted to play the video game adaptation of it will be disappointed for sure. Although it has some enjoyable environments and levels, its repetitive objectives and missions will discourage anyone from continued play.
The developers deserve praise for creating a different kind of movie game, and the kids can have fun with it for a short while. Sadly it still quickly becomes incredibly boring from the lack of any challenge what so ever.
Do you enjoy reading a book and unlocking Achievements at the same time? Rise of the Guardians is the game for you. It lacks variation, finesse and any kind of challenge. If you enjoy the movie, stay clear. Actually, if you enjoy video games at all: stay clear.
