Rock Band 3 is simply perfect. It's the final evolution of the music games, the perfect harmony between game and study, the perfect party experience and an awesome game. Everything is packed with love and attention, from the smaller thing to major features. If you love music and videogames, buy it and love it.

The best music game ever. Harmonix have outdone themselves with new instruments and an insane Pro Mode that will keep us playing for months, perhaps even years to come.

Rock Band 3 is the ultimate rhythm game experience. It takes the groundwork laid by past games and makes it extraordinary.

We wish it was cheaper, but Rock Band 3 is the ultimate music game on Wii even if you don't re-mortgage the house to buy the new instruments. [Issue#56, p.59]

The fact that Rock Band 3 is both easy to pick up and play while offering an intricate learning tool is a remarkable thing.
  7. Rock Band 3 is about as complete a music game as you could hope.

The unavoidable reality is that, for all Rock Band 3's considerable refinements and intuitive advancements, your current games and equipment will probably suffice if you're just after banging a few plastic keys to the odd tune every now and then. But if you've still got a passion for the genre, or you're seriously considering furthering your understanding of the instruments with Pro mode, Rock Band 3 might just be the most important rhythm game to date.

It's hard to imagine where Harmonix can go next with the franchise. [Dec 2010, p.82]

And while that experience is still solid, it's not all that different from Rock Band 2.

I wish there were more 70s and 80's metal like Dio, Iron Maiden, Slayer. Metallica, Megadeth, or even Black Sabbath. Or more nu-metal like Korn, Linkin Park, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson.
Graphics are pathetic even for a wii game (480p) a high quality rock band game for Xbox 360 is (1080p) which is two times the quality of a wii game. Rock Band 3 was a great attempt but weak compared to Rock Band 2 which was awesome!

If you're expecting something that is of the quality of The Beatles Rock Band, Rock Band 2, Rock Band Green Day, or even Lego Rock Band, thenIf you're expecting something that is of the quality of The Beatles Rock Band, Rock Band 2, Rock Band Green Day, or even Lego Rock Band, then don't buy this game. Vocals are broken. Overdrive doesn't work if you have the volume above conversation level. Drums lag and the bass pedal is not synced properly. The menus stutter and lag very badly. The experience is NOTHING like what you would expect based on playing other games in the franchise. Very disappointing. Don't buy this game until the developer fixes these problems. Full Review »

It makes up for the previous installments 10 fold by adding song importing (although RB1 and Lego are left out) for RB2 and Green Day and by adding downloadable packs (finally) on the RBN store. The graphics are amazing for a Wii game and the variety of things to do is amazing. This is a definate must buy for fans of the series or anyone looking for a great party game. Full Review »
