Bags – or Cornhole, as it's called in some parts of the country – originated in the Midwest in the 1960s and has since become a staple at outdoor social events from coast to coast. Similar to horseshoes, Bags is a deceptively simple yet extremely competitive game where players try to toss beanbags into a hole in a slightly raised platform or "box" for points. Whether at a tailgate party or a summer barbecue, the game has become a social focal point, and the unmistakable thud of bags hitting the box is now a universal party soundtrack. [Nintendo] Expand

It makes the transition to WiiWare fairly well, but still feels a bit out of place -- cornhole is a game best experienced in person at a tailgate party or a backyard BBQ.
  2. ‘Casual’ Wii games that you can play while socializing with friends are popular these days. With a simple 'pick up and play' style and strategy to reward repetitive play, Target Toss Pro: Bags fits in perfectly with this style of play.

Throwing a real beanbag with accuracy can be fickle, and the sensitivity of the wii remote in this title seems perfectly tuned to that reality. Add a couple of friends, and just like the real game, you've got an excellent party game that in control scheme alone outdoes the arcade version's trackball.

It should be said that this is a very underrated game. It slots perfectly for a wiiware title as it's inexpensive, a pick-up-&-go game, and is always available in the wii channels (meaning you don't have to actually switch discs to play it.) I've only recently purchased it on a whim given the bags game, but I'm really happy with the controls, simplicity and value. Ask my friends, they like it too.

It's really a not-miss, and a shame not many media outlets haven't reviewed it. Moreso, much of the initial reader feedback on some sites dismissed it as 'shovelware,' most likely without actually playing it. To me, as an owner of this title, this is exactly the value I expect in a wiiware title : fun, responsive, and well worth the seven dollars.

Impromptu bags party in the winter? Can't wait!

p.s. I'd pay ten-twelve for this with an online component.
