  1. You’d be extremely hard-pressed to find a more complete tennis package on Wii – Virtua Tennis 2009’s offline and online career modes offer the most engaging representations of the sport on any console.
  2. A quite good tennis game. The MotionPlus-support makes all the difference. Without it the game feels clumsy ja awkward. What's with the constant and annoying MotionPlus-activation, though? [July 2009]
  3. The most realistic tennis game on Wii, the title's depth will be challenging to some but a joy for others.
  4. Virtua Tennis's motion control satisfies with a trademark pick-up-and-play experience that nevertheless mirrors the sport to an authentic degree. [Sept 2009, p.127]

Best tennis game on the Wii! It's great without the motion plus and the motion plus just makes it all the more fun.

This game looks awesome but i hear alot of good reviews aswell as bad ones but one thing that bugs me is J S made me think that in 2 player its NOT even split screen and also ive seeen the gameplay and the scoreboard thing J S was talking about would start to annoy me too, for me its a toss up between this and grand slam , but my brother hates games with bad graphics soo even though grandslam might have better gameplay the graphics are too cartoony for me i just hope wii motion + will actually work and make it a more realistic fun game :) Expand

I love the way the game plays & how each of the professional's personal body motions have been incorporated. What I'm finding annoying is the on-line play. I've only had a couple of games but I'm guessing the ping times are too high between players so there's lag. It means for many missed shots you easily could have returned. Surely just putting a caveat in that it won't connect betweem users if the ping times are greater than (whatever doesn't work) should be included. On another point it's far to easy to beat the AI players - should be a lot more challenging. Expand

I bought this game based on good reviews but was very disappointed. I play the Wii games with my 5 year old son and although a good video game this is not a good "Wii" game. For multiplayer there is no split screen so you are essentilaly playing backward if you are in the far court (I would think for the Wii this would be a no brainer) (and half the time your player is obstructed by the scoreboard that overlies the back upper area of the screen which I found extremely annoying. The online multiplayer was not of much use as I could not find someone to play with (this may change as more people buy the game). The game also does not take advantage of the motionplus (main reason i had bought the game) (Compare with Tiger Woods 10 and Grand Slam Tennis (which I bought after this). Overall for a single player it is OK but for multiplayer look elsewhere. Expand
