May 23, 201184As long as you aren't interested in motion controls, it's the best tennis game on Wii. [June 2011, p.100]
-
May 27, 201180Virtua Tennis 4 might very well be the deepest and most complete tennis experience on Wii.
-
May 6, 201180Still, what makes Virtua Tennis 4 great is the multiplayer. [May 2011, p.88]
-
May 26, 201172Tennis fans who are looking for fun gameplay rather than pure realism will find this one quite satisfying.
-
May 16, 201170Those who are not looking for a Wiiesque experience, just a tennis game with traditional controls, will enjoy Virtua Tennis 4, which is a good tennis arcade although with not many new features.
-
May 11, 201170Virtua Tennis 4 is a fun tennis game, after you dig through all the fluff: Mini-games and a needlessly complex career mode.
-
Aug 18, 201165In the end, it's a game that would hardly beat a Grand Slam Tennis, for example, and will make you have fun or will provide moments where you wonder "why am I not playing Wii Sports tennis?"
-
May 13, 201165It would be great if all the buttons were accessible and you didn't have to use a D-pad. [May 2011, p.59]
-
May 21, 201160A disappointing effort from the series veterans and creators - it feels as if the Wii version was considered last, with faulty controls and a blatant lack of planning when it came to motion control. There are plenty of features to dig your teeth into, but the lack of care makes it difficult to tackle without many compromises. Worth trying if you're a fan of the sport or Virtua Tennis, but only worth buying if you can become accustomed to the controls.
-
May 10, 201160By partially abandoning the arcade style SEGA has made a bad choice. Virtua Tennis 4 is flawed in many ways, from its unresponsive control scheme to the poor use of the motion controls. Not the best way to enjoy tennis on Wii.
-
May 7, 201160Virtua Tennis 4 for Wii is a disappointing game: it almost doesn't use motion controls, and without motion controls, on Wii, it is just a little better than the first Virtua Tennis, published over ten years ago.
-
May 5, 201160A funny title as usual, but the choice to use Wii Remote for Motion Play only is unexplainable.
-
May 4, 201150Quotation forthcoming.
-
Dec 28, 201142Virtua Tennis 4 isn't a terrible game, but given that there is a better option on Wii, system owners looking for their tennis fix probably want to look elsewhere.
-
May 16, 201134Virtua Tennis 4, however, seems to take about a dozen steps backward, with few redeeming features able to keep your interest. Hopefully, they take a long hard look at their flaws and serve up a better product the next time around. Until then, where's my Wii Sports?
