  • Summary: What if mankind had to leave Earth, and somebody forgot to turn the last robot off? After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named EVE. EVE comes to realize that WALL-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet’s future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, WALL-E chases EVE across the galaxy and sets into motion one of the most exciting and imaginative comedy adventures ever brought to the big screen. Joining WALL-E on his fantastic journey across a universe of never-before-imagined visions of the future, is a hilarious cast of characters including a pet cockroach, and a heroic team of malfunctioning misfit robots. Players of the game take control of WALL-E and EVE through a fast-paced adventure based on the Disney/Pixar film. The game allows fans to relive some of the movie’s most thrilling moments as they explore 10 worlds filled with non-stop action and adventure, along with head-to-head multiplayer challenges. Players will recognize the storyline, characters and key locations from the WALL-E film as they carry out intense missions, dodge dangerous enemies and navigate their way through a futuristic world. In addition, the game contains new storylines and environments that movie-goers will not see in theaters. [THQ] Expand

  1. WALL-E is a fun character and film, but while the game explores more of the movie's universe, the gameplay doesn't explore anything by familiar ground.
  2. The characters will win your heart. [Issue#25, p.74]
  3. While the main platforming gameplay in WALL-E for the Wii is solid and fun, it's really not good for more than a single playthrough and a collecting run.
  4. WALL-E is a very repetitive platform game that does not make for a good one on the Wii system with its inherent lack of camera control and just repetitive puzzles.

Excellent game, getting really into it now, part way through the eva levels now (but Iactually preferred the wall-e levels, all good though) and it's very clever, really well drawn and honestly lives up to the movie very well. WAY better than the reviews made me think it would be.

As usual this proves to me that online and magazine reviews are typically crap and some of the best games out there don't get good recognition. This is a real sleeper, great hidden gem of a game. I prefer it to some of the other wii games I own that have much better ratings...

    Cheers

I played this game for about an hour and already lost interest. The objectives aren't very challenging, but they also aren't very clear. It would be good to just kill some time as a poor puzzle game if the cut scenes didn't make me cringe because the do the film such a disservice. See the film, it's great, skip the game. Expand
  3. yargh. File this under the category of hack game based on a great movie. If you played this and haven't seen the movie, DO NOT take this game as a fair reperesentation of the movie at all. This simply blows and the movie is amazing. I don't know why I bothered playing all the way through, I hated this. Expand

Annoying camera angle which does not keep up with wall-e movement leading to mistakes. Pointless eve level with no penalties for hitting obstacles. Graphics bugs which cause characters to sometimes merge with background and annoying inability to actually move the character in the direction you want when using the wii nunchuck. Overall DONT buy this game. Expand
