But what it does have it wears on its sleeve - hundreds of hand crafted miniature challenges - and that's what I keep coming back for.

Despite the lack of famous mascot characters, Wii Party is a truly enjoyable game.

Party games lovers should absolutely buy Wii Party. The number of minigames is just impressive and they are also very ingenious. Of course, there are some dull challenges but for the most part they are fresh and amusing, exactly like the improved Mii's look. Unfortunately Wii Party doesn't support any online feature and WiiMotion Plus is absent too, but is not a great lack.

In a perfect word, the meta-games would be as good as the mini-games themselves. But with four people, Lambrini and deely-boppers (just me?), Wii Party's still a reliable, if fairly thin, source of entertainment all the same.

Wii Party is a pretty good game for your familiar and friendly evenings (but also mornings, afternoons and even nights) at home. Unfortunately it's on Wii, a console with a pretty wide variety of similar games... and this is not the best of the bunch!

Wii Party threatens to become the life and soul of the party if played in the right circumstances. But without four players, and a stern awareness that the Game Board, House Party and Balance Boat modes are where the fun lies, Wii Party

Dumbing down Mario Party sounds impossible, but this strips out every ounce of fun or thought from the concept to create the most vapid Nintendo game ever.

With lots of play modes - a variant of hide and seek, a Mario Party type of game, quiz shows, Bingo, Wheel of Fortune type of games and more - there is something for everybody. My wife is about as uninitiated as they come in regards to video games and we love playing this game together with friends who are similarly unfamiliar with video games. Simple controls, a bunch of play modes and a variety of fun mini-games that won't always be won by the person with the fastest thumbs make this a great game for everyone that picks up a Wii controller. The mainstream critics have it right that this is a stripped down game aimed at a less hardcore gamer, but since when has simple and fun become the sole domain of the non-gamer? If you have a bunch of casual gamers in your home that enjoy a fun game that encourages teamwork as much as competition, then consider plunking down the $30 or so dollars you can find this great game for. You and your family won't regret it. Expand
