Any gamer that cries for a new, classic Castlevania should put their money where their mouth is and buy this game immediately. Beyond that recommendations are harder to make.

Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Extremes once again team up and deliver a twisted variation of a classic game-mechanism. Black Knight Sword is their take on the 2D-platforming hack-and-slash games of yesteryear, and despite a few balancing issues it comes out as a solid experience. For fans of absurdism, this is a must-have.

Anyone up for a Suda 51 game? If so, step right up and play some Black Knight Sword, which will surely challenge you, envelope you in a dark fairy tale-atmosphere and present you with a lot of weird situations. Don't expect a reinvented wheel and you'll most definitely have a good time.

It's fun and challenging but, above all, unique. There are some issues related to the control of the characters that prevent it from becoming a must-have, but still is a great choice worth having a try.

Black Knight Sword is a good return to the roots of the 16-bit action games, well crafted, with an amazing design in terms of setting and ambiance. The campaign isn't very long, but the most insane and bizarre high-level entertainment of the year is guaranteed.
