Oct 27, 2011100Despite its flaws, Crysis is, hands down, the best FPS to hit the Xbox 360 since The Orange Box and its port of the complete Half-life 2 that came out in way back in 2004.
-
Oct 26, 201192There is enough bang in Crysis to justify the $20 price tag, if only to see the amazing Cryengine 3 at work.
-
Oct 25, 201190Now gamers on the console have the chance to finally enjoy one of the most influential games that has ever been released.
-
Oct 21, 201190Finally, console owners can see what the fuss about Crysis was about. Sometimes Crysis in consoles feels and looks better than the PC edition even though some elements (and a full mission...) of the original are missing.
-
Oct 10, 201190Solid gunplay combined with powerful but balanced Nanosuit abilities, plus plenty of replayability thanks to the open nature of many of the game's levels.
-
Oct 6, 201190This console version benefits from improved lighting not seen in the original release that gives the environments a more natural look, but sadly the framerate never quite feels smooth enough.
-
Oct 10, 201188If you're looking for ultimate detail and resolution and perfect framerate then stick with your PC version of Crysis, but if you don't play PC games, or your PC was never able to play Crysis in the first place then the 360 version of Crysis is a fantastic port that uses their latest engine to deliver great graphics and sound and superior controls, all for only $20 in the On-Demand store.
-
Oct 6, 201188Crysis is an audio delight. From the thundering explosions, to report of sniper rifle shots from across an open area, you can't do better than the effects in this game.
-
Jan 5, 201287So PC fans, don't panic – even though I personally believe Crysis for console is better than the PC version, it's not meant to totally replace the PC version. Rather, its purpose is to give the original Crysis experience to the masses, and honestly, why wouldn't PC gamers want that?
-
Nov 11, 201187As it stands Crysis for Xbox 360 download is still one of the must have games around.
-
Nov 20, 201185It's aged very well and is a great addition to console. Shame about multiplayer, though. [Christmas 2011, p.92]
-
Oct 8, 201185The absence of the PC version's multiplayer modes is a bummer, as is the removal of the penultimate mission from the original campaign. But by the time you reach the conclusion of this exciting bargain, you'll be too amped on adrenaline to care.
-
Oct 6, 201185Even if with four years behind it, Crysis arrives on Xbox 360 in great shape with a compelling campaign, great environments and one of the best graphics around. Too bad for the complete lack of multiplayer, a lacklustre enemy AI and some bugs and problems here and there, but if you never played this game on PC, it's an highly recommended buy.
-
Oct 7, 201183The noticeable downgrade in graphical fidelity and occasional bugs aside, the console port of Crysis is still a blast to play. If you're tired of corridor shooters and are looking for a little more freedom on the battlefield, this is a worthwhile download.
-
Oct 5, 201181A really good shooter game, but it's still miles apart from the PC version.
-
Dec 6, 201180As a single-player experience, it's every bit the quality of a full-priced shooter. [Christmas 2011, p.97]
-
Nov 16, 201180Crysis has gotten a new facelift and on the console it suits it very much. It is a pity there is no multiplayer. But otherwise this game stays true to its great action, neat graphics and exotic surroundings.
-
Nov 16, 201180Open, satisfying and playful. [Issue#78, p.99]
-
Nov 15, 201180Crysis looks great on consoles, too. Too bad Crytek decided to use the nerfed nanosuit 2.0 from Crysis 2 and they couldn't fix the original problem of the game, the way everything turns much less fun once the aliens show up. Still, it's a fun shooter that's worth a look even four years after its original launch. [Nov 2011]
-
Nov 1, 201180Crysis has been a graphical benchmark to which PC games have been striving to reach for four years. Now it is on consoles and it is an undeniably good time no matter what platform it is on because despite having lauded graphics, that is not what makes the game great. The gameplay is fantastic too. Though not without its shortcomings, Crysis for consoles is an experience to be had by anyone that cannot play it on their PC. And since its only 20 bones, what are you waiting for?
-
Oct 31, 201180A lengthy campaign which stands the test of time. [Christmas 2011, p.108]
-
Oct 21, 201180Dear console-owner - if you haven't experienced Crysis on a PC, don't hesitate to do it on your console. The loss on a visual side is minor and you still get an excellent gameplay experience with a lot of freedom and decision making. It's still one of the best shooters around.
-
Oct 18, 201180Even when the experience turns alien in the run-in to the conclusion it's visually impressive at the very least.
-
Oct 11, 201180Crysis comes to consoles, and four years after its release on the PC, there's still nothing quite like it.
-
Oct 11, 201180It's highly priced, and some of the graphical goodness is gone (especially frame rate), but it's a great porting of a game that still feels fresh.
-
Oct 11, 201180If you never got the chance to play the original Crysis -- either because you didn't have a decent enough rig to power it, or you just never got around to it -- it is still a fantastic shooter that's worth downloading. And considering that it's part of a planned trilogy, now's a good time to get caught up on the story and experience the game that started it all.
-
Oct 10, 201180If you stay patient with occasional stealth hiccups and the brutal frequency of death, Crysis will be well-worth your time, money, and the dangers of experimental Nanosuits.
-
Oct 10, 201180For the mouse-and-keyboard crowd, this re-release will serve as little more than a target for negative comparison to the original. However, if gamepads serve as your peripheral of choice, this $20 download is an easy recommendation.
-
Oct 10, 201180Crysis arrives on 360 and PS3 riding the console friendly CryEngine 3. The result, even with cuts and slowdowns, is one of the best looking console games of this generation.
-
Oct 7, 201180Despite the technical comparison sets Crysis a step below the best PC version, the job done by Crytek must be praised because it's clear that the gameplay, the level design and the story of this game are still a solid value after four years. For 20 Euros, is not only a good bargain but also the perfect way to approach Crysis 2 if you haven't played it yet.
-
Oct 7, 201180Those who've never played Crysis before and who fancy an excellent shooter with a goodly amount of freedom shouldn't hesitate to pick this up. This sort of action hasn't really been done much since the game first launched, and it's rarely been done better. If you already have Crysis and a PC that can run it, though, you can safely skip this: while a worthy port, it doesn't quite match its originator.
-
Oct 7, 201180Crysis was, and still is, a brilliantly designed shooter that anyone who enjoys FPSes should play.
-
Oct 6, 201180An excellent port from the PC, which maintains all of the original's innovative open-endedness and most of its graphical prowess.
-
Oct 4, 201180The game has been very good adapted to the pad controls, making it a great opportunity for console players to try the first game of the series. It doesn't match the visuals of the original, however, and doesn't add any new feature of content.
-
Oct 6, 201176Crysis on consoles is really nothing more than the original game with the graphics turned down.
-
Oct 30, 201175If you look at Crysis on the consoles as a standalone downloadable game, you will love the excellent gameplay and the great graphics. But if you compare this game to the original Crysis on PC, you'll be dissapointed. There's absolutely no improvement made over the last four years and the game is stripped down from all its extras.
-
Oct 5, 201175It has adapted very well to the consoles, it's spectacular and uses the systems. It loses none of its gameplay and it is as open as ever. But many bugs, faults in the AI, a lot of popping but no multiplayer modes ruin this playable paradise. Good port, anyway.
-
Oct 24, 201170The original PC version is still the best, but playing this on a console is quite an achievement.
-
Oct 19, 201170If you've already played the game on PC, you can safely skip is re-release. This is a game for console owners, and then only for those most happy about the Crysis series. It's not a bad game, but the little issues, the inconstant quality and the lack of multiplayer means you have to consider this carefully: How fun would it be to go back in time and play a game, everyone talked about four years ago? The answer will decide whether you should get this.
