Those who liked the past few games and even those looking to play Magic: The Gathering for the very first time should all pick up Duels of the Plainswalkers 2014. I can’t suggest it enough.

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, when I first played Magic the Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 I was expecting the same experience as last year, simply with new decks. The fact that Magic the Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers 2014 brings a new game mode, in the shape of Sealed Play, to the table (excuse the pun) really adds to the Magic the Gathering feel.

With an initial Campaign that clocks in at around ten hours plus a secondary campaign, and almost unlimited online replay value thanks to the superb Sealed Play (which itself has a third single-player campaign), there are dozens of hours of card-battling fun available in Magic 2014.

Magic 2014 is a good example of a franchise that keeps improving and adding new challenges and experiences, although its own nature hasn't allowed the developer to make a significant gameplay advance.

Probably the best place for anyone to jump into Magic for the first time and is great value for money for its breadth of gameplay and content.

As always, Duel of the Planewalkers is a perfect entry point for people interested in Magic but are intimidated by the real thing or the ultra competitive Magic The Gathering Online. And, as always too, it lets us wanting for more. Duels series won't be able to stay as the "the entry point" forever.

While it remains the best entry for new gamers into the world of Magic: The Gathering and it finally introduces us to sealed decks and custom builds, the hardcore fans of the series will probably be a little disappointed by the restrictions put on them and on the amount of basic content available.

Another great entry to the series. They have stream lined the interface, resolved the regeneration flaw, and added sealed deck play which let's you build your own deck and win booster packs. Expand

Feels just like playing Magic, but without all those sweaty neckbard pros from the card shop. The game has a great difficulty curve and the AI is solid. The story mode is a bit corny, but no worse than a game like Puzzle Quest. This game is more about the addictive gameplay. The systems work well and there is a huge variety in the cards available. I am able to challenge myself with the battles and learn some good tricks and play styles with what the game has to offer. Great game to spend a lazy sunday with - time goes by incredibly fast while trying to get a difficult card battle just right. I also like the sealed play feature and enjoy unlocking cards and building a custom deck - it's like having a whole other game bundled with the initial story/campaign mode. Not only can you challenget the game AI to gain more boosters for your custom deck, but you can also challenge other players. While you can't combine sealed play decks with each other, you can unlock multiple deck slots - all which contain different random cards that can be used. This excitement keeps the game feeling fresh even after playing on and off for the past year. Expand

So the multiplayer not working for more than 50% of the people on the xbox has been going on for OVER TWO MONTHS. If you own the game, be sure to give it a 1 star rating on the marketplace so other people won't buy it. I can't believe the #%$^ers came out with ANOTHER deck to buy before they fixed the problems of their old customers. I am so enraged, will never buy or support a Wizards of the Coast product again. Worst customer service EVER! But there is a slightly visible silver lining, i have been able to play with others with "the glitch" Add me if you have it GT Praisejeebis420 Expand
