A solid port of 2 great arcade classic games into a modern console. Nice graphics settings to remember the old arcade machines and new "challenges" to get yourself entertained again with a great and fun game that never gets old. The price is a bit high for being a port of a game with 15~ years old, but remember, it's Capcom.

This is a decent port of an old arcade game that is going the way of the dodo because of an expired license. On Jan 1 2015, this game will no longer be available for download, which is sad as the original MvC, while not as good as its sequels, was a very good game to play back in the day and it holds its own fairly well here. The port is good as it includes two games, the original Marvel Superheroes and MvC 1. MvC 1 is the star of the show here as it sets the stage nicely for MvC 2, one of the best fighting games of all time. This is a good way to see this fabulous series' roots and for people to get a better understand of where these types of fighting games came from. While we will probably be forever waiting for things like Marvel v. Street Fighter because of licensing issues, this will be your last hope to experience a time where 2D fighting games were king. But you better hurry before it's taken away forever Expand

There is only one thing missing in Origins: a coin slot. If you're willing to reminisce about the good old days of arcade gaming, this is a great opportunity to do it.[CD-Action 13/2012, p.36]

Marvel vs. Capcom Origins is a near-royal treatment given to a duo of games that have stood the test of time. These should have come far earlier than they did (namely, before the current-generation releases of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and 3, and arguably even Tatsunoko vs. Capcom), but hopefully this collection will give two great games a new lease on life. If you think the current Marvel fighting games have a little too much going on to track of, then I would absolutely recommend going back a couple of decades. There's still a ton of fun to be had there.

A worthwhile update of Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom. The numerous achievements and their real-time updates are welcome additions. [Nov 2012]
