  • Summary: The year is 2034. Under the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, what remains of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from without – and within. Mutants scale the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt the poisoned skies above. But instead of standing ununited, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6. A civil war is burgeoning that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. As Artyom, burdened by guilt but motivated by hope, you hold the keys to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour. Expand

It's not just another frightening trek through the dark corridors of the metro, but a rhythmic symphony of surging dread and emerging hope.

If you love a great story and some fun first-person shooter action, Metro: Last Light is sure to please. Only a couple of minor shortcomings hold the experience back, including the much-improved—but still not completely polished—stealth gameplay.

4A Games managed to deliver a little gem, capable of capturing the gamer with its great story, environments and a really good stealth gameplay. Some glitches, AI problems and a short longevity detract from its overall value, but it's undoubtedly a rewarding experience.

In terms of storytelling, atmosphere and visuals Metro is up there with the heavyweights like BioShock Infinite. But the action is rather ordinary and held back by the appalling AI.

  1. Great atmosphere, improved game play & stealth, shooting is easily the best this year so far!
Not perfect though, could have been more open a
nd less linear. Enemies not very challenging (probably because I'm playing on medium! Great game overall Expand
  2. The game play was really great This is a really great FPS the story is a little hard to understand but that's just me because i did not play the first one. the only thing i did not like is that you pay for the extra game mode and there are some glitches in the game like burning stuff and when People lead you some were and my game has froze one time, on my play throw. but the game dos have a really good check point system to counter all this but they sill need to fix it. 3. As a huge fan of Metro 2033, I must say that I'm very disappointed. Every aspect which made 2033 a unique, satisfying experience, is now absent from Last Light. It seems that the developers were more focused on appealing to the casual player, streamlining a lot of the game mechanics which made Metro 2033 so suspenseful and immersive. Gone are the tense moments and struggles for survival against mutants with only a few rounds to spare for your gun. there's an extreme abundance of ammo in last light this time around, the voice acting is stale, the returning characters are no longer interesting or fit the persona they carried in 2033 (don't expect any captivating monologues from your AI companion missions), and the the levels are a lot more restricting of player exploration. Sure, the graphics may be better with its deferred shading, geometry tessellation, volumetric textures, blah blah, none of this matters when you have a heavily casualized game that doesn't improve upon what its predecessor got right, but in most cases removes said features to appeal to a larger audience. It just no longer feels like a fight for survival with an interesting narrative like its predecessor, but rather another generic shooter on the market. Expand

I don't get it! Once again a great game is reduced to an annoying, badly acted boob fest. The characters that were so endearing and real in 2033 are just mouthpieces stating the obvious. Again you have the characters telling you to do what you are already doing. The game crashes, the sound is terrible, tha AI is dumb and where the first game was fun and immersive, this one is not.The Metro stations are small and you don't feel like you are exploring at all. The above ground scenes that were so terrifying in the first game are tedious and boring. When you fall in the water you can't get yourself out but must wait to be placed back on the same shore you were on. So disappointed, almost quit several times but will finish hoping for improvements but it does not look good. Buyer beware! Expand
