Twenty-seven years later, the game's Live Arcade version is still stressing us out, but in good ways. [Aug 2007, p.79]

A title that stands the test of time. Despite the game's eventual tedium, it will only set players back 400 Microsoft Points (US$5), and is still a memorable experience, one that both accomplished and new missile commanders will want to experience.
  3. We doubt Atari will convert many new players with such basic gameplay but pop on the rose tinted glasses and you could almost forgive the unforgiving controls.
  4. I wanted to like Missile Command more than I did. While it was fun to play again—and the 400 Microsoft Points price tag (about $5) is a small cost—it’s another case where a control pad isn’t the best input device.
  5. This Missile Command is off target.
  6. Cheap, cheerful, timeless fun, and ultimately short-lived - but isn't that the whole point?

There's not actually that much to do here. [Sept 2007, p.108]

The 'evolved' modern mode is duff, but classic Missile Command has still got it. [Aug 2007, p.92]
  9. With the lack of its original trackball controller, new and exciting gameplay, and only bringing in tacked-on modes, Missile Command unfortunately won’t meet expectations of ones who had fun with it nearly 30 years ago.

It's just a shame that the left analogue stick is no substitution for the original arcade trackball. [Issue#24, p.101]

    Brilliant Classic.
