  1. Feels like the refreshing start of a new era for Midway's fighting series. It probably won't change your mind if you're not into the genre, or even if you're into the genre but have already made up your mind about the MK series. But if you're open to the idea of more Mortal Kombat, you'll find a terrific game here.
  2. Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe is a solid fighter with good mechanics and a great story mode.
  3. For the short time this game lasted it was fun and hard to put down, but once complete there is little left to offer. Thankfully comic fans will not be disappointed.
  4. It’s good to see that new life, by means of bizarre franchise combination, can be breathed into a nearly dead game series.
  5. By merging two franchises Midway is being quite clever. Mortal Kombat and DC fans will lap this up and for the uninitiated it’ll still provide ample enjoyment.
  6. Despite of not showing one of the bests Fighting Systems, the game is still compared to any of the Ed Boon’s franchise, surfacing other games in terms of graphics or sounds. Still, the game can’t offer a solid experience like the ones that have inspired MK vs DC. Any fan of each (or both) Universes will certainly enjoy this game because Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe is made for the fans.
  7. Comic books are excessively violent. Mortal Kombat is excessively violent. Yet somehow the combination of the two has been watered-down to the point of irrelevance, all in the hopes of increasing the number of people who would play it.

This game has taken Mortal Kombat back to its roots. The fatalities are "dialed down" a bit but they are still entertaining. I love Mortal Kombat but since they were introduced as a 3-D fighter they have ALL fell short of my expectations when it comes to actual fighting. This game is the exception...Midway has finally got it right! Expand

Very disappointed in these reviewers. Are they uber geeks? This game should get a 9 rating unless you like BUTTON MASHING FIGHTING games like street fighter 4. My friend has both and this one WAS CLEARLY better for gameplay and graphics. Replay is there if you have friends to fight with and there are oodles of moves. Plus a block button so you're not just MASHING BUTTONS as fast as you can like in SF4, you can actually strategise! The story mode is short, however, I'm not taking points off cuz its THAT FUN to play! NUF SAID! Collapse

This game was amazing from the start, you will surely enjoy this with a buddy or with the computer. Yes i did not like how the game didnt have the gore like from the original Mortal Kombat games but it's a great ride from start to finish. Buy this game and add it to your collection! Expand

A very fun fighter. It's not ultra-complex... however, it is extremely satisfying. The characters are very well balanced, and it's easy to learn after a few hours. I honestly went into playing this game with low expectations. I was very impressed, and shocked with how much fun i had. Now...i don't think i would buy it at full price. The lasting appeal may be good...but the content and unlockables are just average. I recommend purchasing after a good price drop. Expand

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe had potential to be the perfect fighter game. The character selection was varied and kept everyone happy. The super moves were simple enough to perform and didn't require you to be a hardcore gamer. Also, the there were new ideas such as Klose Kombat, Free Fall Kombat, Test Your Might, & Rage Mode that kept the fighter genre fresh. Furthermore, both career modes were both challenging and worth the playable character you got with it. It had flaws that made it less than perfect, though. Many times the key press response time was slow and very many times the analog stick and D-pad both required you to be irritatingly precise. Also, playing with a friend can prove hazardous because many times they find a cheap move and do it repeatedly, like slicing you over and over with Baraka. Additionally, the career mode's story was weak and didn't have much time put into it. Overall, great fighting game with funny moments (especially the Joker's!) and heroic super moves, but pretty unresponsive and, sometimes, cheap. Expand

It's an ok game, I spend hours of fun playing this one, the only problem I found is the lack of options, just arcade, story and Xbox Live, and the fatalities are not what someone expect, and in the us version they're censored. Expand

The story of this is one of the worst piece of fiction I've ever seen, complete "marasmus"!!! It pissed me off, violated every rule it possibly could in DC Universe. Having so many great characters, and make them all irrelevant FAILURE. Expand
