  1. A great first entry for the series on the Xbox 360, with great dynamic gameplay and a robust Dynasty mode. Far and away the best basketball game EA has released for a next-gen system.
  2. NCAA March Madness 07 has a few gameplay issues. If you list them, they do add up but in practice the game is enjoyable and will prove fun to all but the most picky of gamers.
  3. While NCAA March Madness 07 isn’t without flaws in both its gameplay and presentation values, there certainly is a vast improvement from the franchise’s final appearance on the original Xbox last year.
  4. If you are a big-time college hoops aficionado, I believe you’ll be able to look past the flaws of this game and appreciate the college atmosphere and intensity it brings. EA is definitely on the right track.

Madness 07 is a great first entry on the 360, but there is plenty of room for improvement. In the end, Madness is a fun, good basketball game worth a look.
  6. The impressive Dynasty mode and new Team Intensity Mode (which lets you track and alter the individual momentum of your players) offer some interesting strategic aspects to the game, but in the end March Madness still ends up a few baskets short of its competition.
  7. The sounds and music in this game are authentic right down to the announcers.
  8. The choppy animations, quirky menu navigation, bad officiating, and poor commentary are enough to undo the great strides EA made in the graphics and controls.
  9. From a strong matchmaking system to a deep dynasty mode that largely mirrors EA's NCAA football game, March Madness does a good job bringing the energy of college hoops home.
  10. Sweet Sixteen gameplay with a Final Four atmosphere.
  11. It’s quick to pick up and play, and All-American difficulty will make you strain for a win, but with a $60 price tag, this is only for the most die hard of fans.
  12. The intensity additions are all well and good, but the basic gameplay engine and A.I. system needs looked at a bit closer.
  13. The bells, whistles and added off-court content are nice additions, but the game suffers from some nagging on-court issues that should have been addressed before the extra stuff.
  14. At least another year away from a run at the championship.
  15. It’s definitely not a terrible game, but it’s never going to rise to the level of some of EA’s other sports titles unless it’s put under the microscope and seriously reexamined.
  16. March comes early on the 360 with EA's first efforts on the console. It has some nice touches and gameplay tweaks, but nothing too impressive.
  17. This season it doesn't quite have all the fundamentals down pat, but another semester's worth of schooling and polish should help the next outing. Ultimately, it's a solid (if unspectacular) hoops title that deserves a look.
  18. Most of the massive problems that have plagued next-gen versions of Live have receeded, leaving a game that's fun, accessible, and while flawed, full of enough personality.
  19. By dodging most of its NBA Live pitfalls, the company created a solid basketball game that does tremendous things for the sports genre, yet still fails to best the competition.
  20. If you want a straightforward simple game of college basketball with nice graphics, March Madness is the one for you. But overall, 2K7 is the more complete college game.
  21. Beneath numerous flaws there's a decent basketball game in March Madness 07, but you've got to dig too deep to find it.

It's a distant No. 2 to this year's unquestionably better "College Hoops 2K7."
  23. The title is plagued with too many issues to be a big contender this year, which is a shame because the core gameplay is a lot of fun, proving that this series, like the young NBA hopefuls, is full of great promise and potential.
  24. It's a solid effort, but it just doesn't have the minute-by-minute gravity of 2K7's college game. [Feb. 2007, p.89]
  25. Easily the best NCAA basketball option out there. It does so much right that even the frustrating scoring issues can’t really kill the experience.
  26. Like Live 06, it has some core goodness, but it just needs some TLC. [Feb. 2007, p.79]
  27. Even with those changes, the game doesn’t come close to the competition.
  28. It’s easy to see that March Madness 2007 is not the best college basketball game on the market. It’s not even close.
  29. If you are a die-hard College Hoops fan, then you will find NCAA March Madness 07 fun enough to forgive its flaws and less than aggressive A.I.
  30. EA has made some great strides in the right direction with March Madness 07, but when it comes to being able to hit the clutch shot in overtime to win it all, March Madness 07 falls short.
  31. March Madness 07 will make you mad it’s March and the only college hoops game you own is this one; stick with "College Hoops 2K7."
  32. If you have "College Hoops" and enjoy it, you really should fight the urge to spend a few bucks even on a rental of March Madness 07. It just doesn’t hold up well, and is nowhere near as deep or as enjoyable as its competition.
  33. The selection of modes is weak. In the 360 game, you can only play through the dynasty mode or a single game or tournament. There is no single-season option or practice options. No mini-games either.

March Madness is better than the collage hoops the way the fans get like after they score is the real deal.
