The trip to Vietnam leaves us with mixed feelings. On the one hand, the add-on keeps the high standard of the main game, but on the other hand, there are not many new things. Despite the few vehicles and minor changes in the weapon section, there isn't much new to discover.

At 1200 Microsoft points, Quake Arena Arcade may not be your ideal first-person shooting experience on Xbox Live – especially since other games run for 800 or even less. But if you're a Quake fan or need a fulfilling multiplayer experience that will keep you busy for hours, you owe it to yourself to enter the Arena.

It's hobbled by the joypad control. [Mar 2011, p.94]

My impression is that Quake Arena Arcade is a half-hearted reboot of a dying game.

  1. Even though the net coding is really bad, QAA is still the best multiplayer first person shooter on the xbox at the moment. It's fast-paced, intelligent, and competitive. Expand
  2. quake 3 arena is based on a first person shooter game it has perished from quake and quake 2 also there is quake live at now so might wanna go and check that out if your a fan of quake se yah Collapse
  3. A garbage version of Quake III Arena. If you play THIS Quake (along with Quake 4), please, don't think that all QUAKEs are like that. This game is not open (well... sure, that's for consoles), the multiplayer is not so bad but also not so good, the maps are limited, and there are missing a lot of things. Also, how can you STRAFE, especially when you AIM and SHOOT? Not recommended. Buy a computer and play the original Quake III Arena. Expand
