  1. Overall, this is a solid fishing game and has quite a bit of fun to offer for the virtual anglers out there.

Rapala Fishing Frenzy 2009 is probably the best fishing game I have encountered in quite some time. It has inventive controls, superb visuals (minus the slowdown) and enough challenges to keep you occupied for months to come. The lack of true online really dampens the experience though and makes me wonder what could have been.
  3. A glorified mini-game. [Oct 2008, p.85]

If development studio Fun Labs was going for an arcade fishing experience, it missed the point. There are no exotic fish species and the action that comes with hooking a fish is mundane. If the objective was to make a simulation, they forgot to add any features to make it feel real.
  5. Rapala Fishing Frenzy 2009 is a truly abysmal example of a game. It's broken, heartless and about as fun as attaching fishing hooks to the most sensitive areas of your person.
