Undead Nightmare, as a single-player upgrade, is an exceptional bargain for the amount of new gameplay that it provides. But including the highly entertaining Undead Overrun multiplayer mayhem makes this a cannot-miss DLC purchase for Red Dead Redemption gamers.
  2. Nov 5, 2010
This is a must have for anyone who owns Red Dead Redemption. In case you are wondering, yes it is worth it even if you don't play multiplayer.
  3. Oct 31, 2010
Undead Nightmare is an amazing experience that when you factor in the low price truly raises the bar over anything I have seen in terms of DLC packs in the last couple of years. Keep the zombies coming!
  4. Oct 27, 2010
Undead Nightmare is what downloadable content should be -- a lot of bang for your buck.
  5. Nov 2, 2010
In all, Rockstar struck gold by releasing Undead Nightmare.
  6. Nov 8, 2010
In addition to the single player story mode, which, by the way, runs longer than the story mode in many full-priced games these days, let alone DLC expansions, there's a new multiplayer mode included in Undead Nightmare.
  7. Nov 4, 2010
Undead Nightmare is an exceptional piece of DLC, that not only raises the bar for all add-on content to follow, but also wraps up the truly fantastic experience that is arguably Rockstar's finest work to date, Red Dead Redemption.
  8. Oct 31, 2010
Offering a new element to Red Dead Redemption, one of this year's best titles, Undead Nightmare refreshes everyone's mind on the title right during award season.
  9. Oct 28, 2010
Undead Nightmare is an immensely enjoyable and compelling alternate story set within the Red Dead universe, that succeeds in making the open-world feel fresh and different. The story is entertaining and engaging, and just as well-written and produced as the main game.
  10. Nov 8, 2010
Forget about what you've done during the main game's single player campaign, turn off your suspension of disbelief, and nail those suckers in the head.

Red Dead's outstanding DLC in a box. Simple as.

There's enough cool stuff here--undead animals, fanciful new mounts, and fantastic new weapons--that it's among the best game add-ons on 360 to date. [Jan 2011, p.76]
  13. Nov 18, 2010
Undead Nightmare is exactly what good DLC should be, something brand spanking new added to an already feature-filled game.
  14. Nov 16, 2010
A new single player campaign and tons of extras make this DLC an essential purchase for all RDR fans.
  15. Nov 16, 2010
It may not change the experience much but is a great incentive to return to this which is one of the best experiences of this generation.
  16. Nov 9, 2010
A great criticism to North America's religious and political fanatism, but also a delicious piece of macabre and absurd humor, with lots of references and homages.
  17. Nov 3, 2010
For ten bucks, it offers an excuse to revisit one of the year's absolute best games and kill zombies.
  18. Nov 1, 2010
Undead Nightmare is probably the best thing that could happen to Red Dead Redemption. This zombie invasion shows us another side of the Wild West and that side is simply beautiful.
  19. Nov 1, 2010
Rockstar have created one of the most imaginative and cleverly designed DLC packs this year.
  20. Nov 1, 2010
Rockstar really knows how to please with Red Dead Redemption and this DLC shows it.
  21. Oct 28, 2010
Undead Nightmare might not tie-in to Red Dead's overarching story, but as an entertaining journey into an alternate tale set within that rich and compelling universe, it's an add-on that proves utterly indispensable for any self-respecting fan of the game.
  22. Oct 28, 2010
So much value for a small price. Even those who think that the undead business is annoying should try this one, as Rockstar really delivers something unique and exhilarating to spend your time with.
  23. Oct 28, 2010
Undead Nightmare completely revises the world of Red Dead redemption. The main quest is funny and really long, and the cooperative multiplayer is a totally new experience for players.
  24. Oct 27, 2010
Aside from the minor issues that I've mentioned, the only real complaint I can level at Undead Nightmare is that it makes the previous two DLC packs - which were on sale at the same price - look a little bit lightweight.
  25. Oct 27, 2010
Very few times you can say this about a downloadable content, but with ten hours of one-player campaign, a completely new story, refined graphics and sound and more multiplayer modes, Undead Nightmare is worth every cent it costs.
  26. Oct 26, 2010
Undead Nightmare is an awesome variant of the main story of Red Dead Redemption, that comes for a very cheap price (considering what it has to offer). The single player experience is long and well done, but the real surprise is the new multiplayer mode. The Horde is the most intense and funny multiplayer mode in this game. No doubts about it.
  27. Nov 2, 2010
The whole experience is even more remarkable at its price point of $10. Sure, clearing towns might get a little stale and the occasional blip of aimlessness is annoying, but the outstanding writing and attention to detail more than make up for any pockmarks on this putrefied gunslinger.
  28. Nov 1, 2010
"Undead Nightmare" follows in the tradition of "The Lost and Damned" and "Ballad of Gay Tony" giving gamers more than their money's worth when it comes to things to do. There's about five or six hours of story content, in addition to the wealth of hours you'll spend with the new multiplayer modes.

    A potent cocktail. [Jan 2011, p.80]
  30. Nov 3, 2010
Undead Nightmare is a fairly lengthy DLC pack with a bunch of new features. The story is straightforward and there are not a lot of mission types but the Stranger quests, new weapons, new mounts, and the challenges all add much needed variety. The multiplayer additions are nothing too special but they are appreciated and add a few more hours of fun to the whole experience.
  31. Oct 31, 2010
As with the original game, I thoroughly enjoyed the Undead Nightmare Pack and with the inclusion of zombies, this add-on is definitely very enjoyable experience that I would happily recommend to all lovers of the Red Dead Redemption series.
  32. Oct 27, 2010
For $10, anyone who loves Red Dead Redemption or the horror movies should pick this add-on up.
  33. Jan 12, 2011
Undead Nightmare may sound gimmicky at first, but it quickly becomes clear that Rockstar spared no expense creating what is arguably one of the best DLCs of all time. It's not just the sheer amount of content that's included, but also the method in which said content drastically renovates the Red Dead experience in an exciting and meaningful way.
  34. Nov 15, 2010
If you've finished Red Dead Redemption and want more from the single-player, you are absolutely in the right place.
  35. Nov 15, 2010
Some may complain about the filler missions, but it's worth spending the $10 to revisit one of the best games of the year!

If you don't already have Red Dead Redemption, this is definitely worth getting your hands on. [Issue#66, p.87]
  38. Nov 25, 2010
The game may look like Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, but its philosophy is unforgiving, with painfully limited ammo and a foe that can only be taken down with a headshot.
  39. Nov 9, 2010
A treat to behold for fans of the zombie genre or otherwise, this add-on comes recommended to anyone looking for a macabre twist on the Red Dead formula.
  40. Nov 2, 2010
Rockstar may be a bit late to the zombie party, but Undead Nightmare is the best piece of DLC yet for one of 2010's best games.
  41. Oct 29, 2010
It's cowboys and zombies; what could go wrong? Answer; very little, and while Mr Bleszinski's tweet contains a kernel of truth that the undead can be a "go-to" for lazy developers, the quality of Undead Nightmare puts it out of the firing range of such criticism.
  42. Oct 29, 2010
The whole package absolutely shames most other downloadable expansions (including the earlier Red Dead ones) and as silly and shallow as it all is it's just as unmissable as the main game itself.
  43. Oct 28, 2010
This is, frankly, how DLC should be done. Persistent and minor issues with the game engine aside, Undead Nightmare offers a generous amount of polished AAA-grade new material and finally gives fans of the single-player game a compelling reason to dust off their spurs and head back to the ranch.
  44. Oct 27, 2010
This zombie-themed add-on for Red Dead Redemption is the excuse you've been waiting for to don John Marston's boots again.
  45. Oct 26, 2010
Even though this new story could have been a little more varied in its missions, one can only salute, once again, the talent of the studio. Marvelously implemented, and surprisingly adequate when combined with the western theme, this interpretation of the classic zombie myth is both comprehensive and efficient. The gameplay is profoundly (and interestingly) changed, and as usual with Rockstar, the value for price factor remains its strongest selling point.
  46. Oct 25, 2010
While some of the missions seem uninspired, the fun of Red Dead Redemption is still there. Its colorful characters and fantastic cutscenes are as good as ever, with a wicked sense of humor this time around.
  47. Nov 10, 2010
There are a lot of things this content pack does well, just like in the main game, but there is also an equal number of things the game does maddeningly wrong, just like in the main game, leading to an experience that is worth having, provided you're willing to put up with some frustrations.
  48. Feb 19, 2011
Those who can't get enough of Red Dead's wild west action or zombies might want to give Undead Nightmare a spin. There's a lot of game here for 800 Microsoft points, and while it's rarely as compelling as the main title, there's still some fun to be had in watching John Marsten shoot zombies in the head.
  49. Jan 5, 2011
Undead Nightmare is a great piece of DLC. A solid, well produced, and very funny single player story attached to an already stellar game engine, it's hard for any Red Dead: Redemption fan to pass this by.

If you like tearing zombies down with your friends and waves with increasing difficulty, you should get his DLC, im just talking about the multiplayer part since I have not played the single player campaing. I bought this game 3 weeks ago and this DLC came in the nick of time. Didn't hesitate to get the undead pack wich includes all the dlc.

I got to wave 26 with 3 other online players, the dificulty till wave 15 was ok, after that I could sense how hard it was to kill even the normal zombies (there are 4 types of zombies) at wave 26 I found myselft throwing dinamite like crazy to get them off me and running and yelling at my room like a 13 year old little girl (which I'm not lol).

I am only reviewing the multiplayer and will surely update this review when I play the single player experience.

its fun to free roam as a zombie grunting at people...
