  • Summary: Let your imagination soar in Rise of the Guardians: The Video Game as you play in an action-packed adventure game as one of the classic childhood legends, including: North (aka Santa Claus), Tooth (aka the Tooth Fairy), Bunnymund (aka the Easter Bunny), Sandman, and Jack Frost. Each player has their own set of upgradable and never-before-seen extraordinary abilities to help you take on the evil spirit "Pitch" and his infectious nightmares. 1. Dec 10, 2012
Rise of the Guardians isn't entirely unpleasant, but even if you're looking for a co-op game that's safe for the whole family, you can find better options on the market.
  2. Dec 17, 2012
It sports the charismatic characters from the movie, but lacks in variety and player satisfaction. Avoidable.
  3. Dec 20, 2012
The curse of the license strikes again. The action reminds me of Gauntlet and actually the Guardians stay as shallow and monotonous as the retro classic. No challenge and no variety make it difficult to appreciate the colorful art design.
  4. Dec 17, 2012
The younger ones may even feel captivated for some time but they should not endure something so boring for long.
  5. Feb 25, 2013
Sadly lacking in depth, so much so in fact that you can literally play most of it with your eyes closed.
  6. 30
Sails beneath already low expectations. [Jan 2013, p.91]
  7. Dec 6, 2012
Do you enjoy reading a book and unlocking Achievements at the same time? Rise of the Guardians is the game for you. It lacks variation, finesse and any kind of challenge. If you enjoy the movie, stay clear. Actually, if you enjoy video games at all: stay clear.
