Even though it has some issues, it tries to bring back the soul of the arcade, and manages to offer a game full of action that those who play it with friends are definitely going to enjoy.
I'm thrown by any review saying this was a step down from the first one, I feel the complete opposite. The first film was fun but had plenty of flaws, this one however was a huge step in the right direction and really enjoyable. I loved seeing it in the cinema, my partner, who really hadn't liked the first movie at all really enjoyed this one as a fan of the original cartoon series, and although there where lots of silly moments, it felt like original movies/cartoons that I grew up with myself. It made me laugh openly and I thought the turtles performances where fantastic (they are a super strong cast in that regard). Megan Fox even improved for me this time round and Stephen Amell was a great addition to the cast. All in all I loved it, it was fun and I'd happily watch it again!
If it had greater enemy variety and required players to utilize their full arsenal of abilities – and if its technical issues were ironed out – it might have really been something special.
Out of the Shadows has all the trimmings of a fantastic brawler, but none of it works as it should. For every highlight the game showcases there are multiple failures: shoddy controls, a complicated combat system, and far too many glitches.
Bugs like this render the game almost unplayable. With patience and no small amount of luck, it is possible to progress in the game, but it's simply not worth it.
Best Turtle game yet. Combat much like Arkham games. Lacks in many areas, but a step in the right direction. Cannot beat the price point either. 6.0 id much too low in my opinion.
When a producer gives the go ahead to a bad script, and it is badly edited, they don't say, "We made a bad film." They say, "The Turtles just aren't in style. It's all about Marvel film." TMNT: Out of the Shadows is a disappointing. It will tank and because of it, there will most likely not be any Turtle films in the near future. And that's a shame. I grew up on the Turtles more than Spiderman, Batman, or Superman combined. I loved the Turtles as a child. I can't believe I have to leave a bad review on metacritics. They're lucky I don't do movie review on my youtube channel.
I purchased this on Steam and while the reviews said there were game breaking bugs, they must have been fixed by the time I played it. I may be biased, because I loved the turtles when I was younger, and the art style in this game looks amazing. The controls can get a little clunky for how quick you try to queue up a combo move, but overall, it is a fun game to go through, even if you do have to button mash like crazy sometimes. The camera angles can get a little tiresome, I found myself constantly pointing the camera back at a level I could work with. As far as characters, each turtle has his own unique fighting style and techniques. This lets you play around with different ways of fighting through the waves of foot soldiers. I played this solo, so there were a few spots where it would have been very handy to have a coop buddy or two. A lot of reviews have ripped this game apart, and maybe it was due to the bugs that are gone now, and it has it's flaws, but this game is definitely worth checking out.
Why? JUST WHY???????? The game is repetitive and boring period. The only fun thing about this game is the training mode lol! XD Even the Nickolodeon version that came out afterwards ****! WHEN will we EVER get a TMNT game like Arkham City? CAN ANY GAME DEVELOPER DO THE SERIES JUSTICE??? Jesus Christ.
if you want a review go checkout totalbuscuit the cynical brit cause i don't want to review this game go do it now he has awesome videos that are better than this game
