May 16, 2012100The Witcher 2 is a highly recommended purchase for those seeking a mature and visceral role-playing experience.
-
Apr 17, 201290It's the way it handles player choice in particular that makes it most notable. There are no contrived right-versus-wrong decisions to exploit. The results of your decision don't just influence minor details: they lead you down wildly disparate paths, each as entertaining as the others.
-
Apr 10, 201295Its weighty combat, difficult choices with real consequences, and fascinating storylines are some of the best gaming has ever seen. I can no longer lord it over the console masses with this one, though, because this long-in-development Xbox 360 port is just as amazing as the original. It's actually better than it was at launch... [May 2012, p.82]
-
Apr 25, 2012100This is simply one of the most singular and enthralling RPG experiences in years, and it should be played by pretty much anyone willing to hold a controller.
-
Apr 19, 201293The Xbox 360 version has some rough edges, but these annoyances aren't significant enough to sully the experience. The Witcher 2 is a beauty to behold with a rich, involving fiction framing strategic and challenging combat. Most of all, its mature implementation of morality, choice, and consequence is a step forward that more games would be wise to follow.
-
Apr 13, 201295The Witcher 2 on the X360 is a masterpiece. It's easy to prey on the developers that are unable to create a good port of an original game, but that's not the case. I don't have to be patriotic to see the gigantic amount of work the authors have done - I have seen this port in action almost a year ago and I was far from being ecstatic.
-
Apr 13, 201290The Witcher 2 has an air of unique wonder about it. There's a weight and detail to the mythology that is beguiling, but CD Projekt's skill has been in making this relevant and meaningful to the player.
-
Apr 30, 201290Even with its flaws, The Witcher 2 is the best game that I have played in years and one of the best games I have ever played. As I mentioned before, though, it's hardcore, with a steep learning curve. However, that's an easy price to play for getting to play through one of the most intelligent multi-pathed stories in video game history. For fans of RPGs or story-based games in general, this is a must-buy.
-
Apr 23, 201290If you're digging the dark fantasy of Game of Thrones or the demanding challenge of Dark Souls, buy this game without hesitation.
-
Apr 22, 201290The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition dishes out additional content on a game I already loved so much. Gamers who don't play games on the PC have a chance to play it on their Xbox 360 without that much of a compromise. If you've haven't played The Witcher 2 yet and own a 360, you have no excuse not to buy one of the best RPGs the genre has had to offer for some time.
-
Apr 19, 201290The mature theme, gameplay and compelling plot pull us through a story that creates a legend that you would be a fool to miss out on.
-
Apr 17, 201294Regardless of the game's quality when put side-by-side with its PC incarnation, however, The Witcher 2 on the 360 is definitely an incredibly well crafted and polished game with a few flaws that only rarely hinder the overall experience and prevent it from achieving perfection.
-
Apr 16, 2012100Porting such a colossal game as The Witcher 2 on the 360 was no easy task. CD Projekt rose to the challenge nonetheless and succeeded. Even though it's less detailed and delicate than on the PC, the 360 port remains visually stunning. The game itself is as good as ever, better even, with its buffed up third act and revised endings. Unmissable for any RPG fan.
-
Apr 12, 201296The Witcher 2 continues to be a colossal creative and technical achievement and the superb 360 version only confirms the excellence CD Projekt's craft. Console users get a fantastic version of a fantastic game, while the PC users get a great patch that improves and enhances the experience of the original, a perfect excuse to return as The White Wolf and to live his adventure from a new perspective.
-
May 28, 201290It doesn't deliver the amazing level of graphics we've seen in the enhanced PC version, but the Xbox 360 edition of Witcher 2 is, by all means, one of the best western RPGs ever created.
-
May 26, 201297If you want to be shown how a PC port should be done, then look no further than The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
-
May 15, 201290The Enhanced Edition improves upon an already excellent game and brilliantly spreads the Witcher gospel to Xbox-owners. The dark and brutal adventures of Geralt are still marvelous and everyone who hasn't played Witcher 2, but enjoys an occasional RPG, should prepare themselves for an exciting and seductive experience.
-
May 14, 201290The console version offers a great and dark RPG-Story. The additional content from the PC version is already included. Only the menu in the Xbox 360 version is a little confusing sometimes.
-
May 10, 201295Much like its protagonist, Assassins of Kings stands in defiant contrast to the crowd, but in doing so CD Projekt RED has come away with a product that appeals on many different levels – a strong draught of dialogue, action, and coordinated gameplay that ought to slake the hunger, thirst, and yearning loins of any lonesome traveller of the road.
-
May 4, 201290A port that respects its platform and audience, and was clearly crafted as carefully as possible.
-
Apr 30, 201290It may feature kings, castles, elves and wizards, buts its approach is fresh and vital. It has a character all of its own. This is due in no small part to the quality of the source material.
-
Apr 28, 201290The story is excellent and original, and the game can take you dozens of hours to complete depending on how much you dig into the side quests. My original skepticism about the viability of a game like The Witcher 2 on consoles has been blown away, but of course it's up to the Xbox 360 gamers out there to make it a success.
-
Apr 27, 201298The Witcher 2 looks great, plays great, and is a role-playing adventure for the ages.
-
Apr 27, 201290Delivers countless hours of gripping story and challenging missions, and as soon as your done you'll want to play it again to see if things unfold differently the next time around. The best RPG of 2011 is the best RPG of 2012 as well.
-
Apr 27, 201297The 360 version may not be the pinnacle version, but it's done well enough that there's no significant detriment to tarnish the experience the developers originally intended.
-
Apr 24, 201290One of the best roleplaying games of yesteryear just got a little bit better, and if you're even remotely interested in the genre, this is a game you have to play. The Witcher 2 is every bit as excellent with couch and controller as it was with keyboard and mouse.
-
Apr 24, 201290An absolutely must buy. With the plethora of new content and special packaging that puts any Collector's Edition to shame, there's no reason not to buy this amazing RPG.
-
Apr 23, 201289The learning curve is steep, and it can be hard to keep up with all the made-up words if you're new to the series, but it's all worth it in the end. This is a fun world to inhabit, and the narrative weaved throughout is deeply satisfying. Not afraid of a little complexity? Then get this game.
-
Apr 17, 201290Unless you have a high end PC capable of running the game smoothly on at least high settings, get the Xbox 360 version. It's a complete experience right out of the box that comes with some great content within in the box itself like a map, soundtrack and quest handbook.
-
Apr 17, 201290One of the best story-driven RPGs that is shining on today's generation of video game consoles. If you own X360 and you love RPGs, there can be no argument, nor any reasonable excuse, against buying this game right now. Head to your nearest shop.
-
Apr 17, 2012100Despite the constant worry of carrying too much loot around, and even with some small interface issues, The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is a marvelous game. It's more focused and has a vastly superior combat model than Skyrim, is more realized and contains better writing than Dragon Age, and treats sex like a mature theme and not a juvenile goal. It's not to be missed.
-
Apr 17, 2012100The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition is one of the most engaging and immersive games of this console generation, drawing players into a complex narrative, full of character, an excellent script and a rich gaming environment.
-
Apr 17, 201290The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is truly an immaculate experience that fans of the genre should not miss.
-
Apr 16, 201291It's a fantastic game, even set aside from playing the original Witcher, so don't be put off by the fact that you might not have played the first game. For console only players that have heard PC gamers talk endlessly about the merits of this particular title, you'll finally get a chance to see what all the hype has been about. I don't think you'll come away disappointed in the slightest, as The Witcher 2 really delivers in every way imaginable.
-
Apr 16, 201292The best RPG of 2010 comes to the Xbox 360 in a Enhanced version. It's a porting of incredible quality that qualifies The Witcher 2 as one of the best console games of 2012.
-
Apr 16, 201295The Witcher 2: Assassin's of Kings Enhanced Edition is not a perfect game as the title does contain some graphical clipping, a few bugs and some truly frustrating moments such as over the top boss battles (depending on difficulty) and of course the horrible inventory system. However, thankfully the pros more than outweigh the cons in this title which creates one of the best RPG experiences on the XBox 360.
-
Apr 13, 201294CD Projekt has achieved a great game, translating the essence of the excellent game they made for PC to Xbox 360, without diluting it in the proccess. It is one of the best games for the Xbox 360; it's deep, complex and mature, and very good news for RPG fans.
-
Apr 13, 201294This is simply the perfect edition of The Witcher 2. If you still don't have the original PC version, this is the right time to get it, and if you have an Xbox 360 in your home just run out to buy this wonderful RPG.
-
Apr 13, 201290Even though The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings takes some time to reveal its greatness, the game is enthralling from the very first second. It will take you some time to master the controls, because the combat system is a pretty unique mix of tactical movement and mere brutality. The modern game engine makes the game optically beautiful and the synchronization of the characters is amazing. Easily one of the best Action-RPGs for Xbox360.
-
Apr 13, 201290Absolutely one of the best linear RPGs available on any platform, and it's now on your 360.
-
Apr 13, 201290The Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has plenty of extra content and drop dead gorgeous graphics. This is an instant classic not to be missed.
-
Apr 13, 201293The Witcher 2 is amazing! Not the graphics, but the gameplay is the thing that will keep the players happy. This just might be the greatest PC-to-console port ever made.
-
Apr 13, 201290The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 is a wonderful, groundbreaking and lasting experience. So good, that a few visual cutbacks can't diminish the joy of playing.
-
Apr 13, 201293The original PC version of The Witcher 2 is still the best, but playing the Enhanced Edition on Xbox 360 is, hands on, one of the most amazing RPG experiences in console.
-
Apr 13, 201290The Witcher 2 itself is still an incredible title that really makes you feel that you're having an impact on the people and politics of this world, and the Enhanced Edition only makes it better.
-
Apr 13, 201290The immersive world, memorable characters, exhilarating combat, and branching storylines will have you coming back to play it again and again.
-
Apr 13, 201290While not necessarily as big a name as the products of BioWare or Bethesda, The Witcher 2 is still one of the most interesting developments in RPGs within the last ten years, and with a combination of additional content and cutscenes its Enhanced Edition on Xbox 360 is one of the most lovingly crafted fan-services you'll find.
-
Apr 13, 201293A brilliant game with deep gameplay, great graphics, a highly involving story and, mainly, it feels like a game conceived for consoles rather than as a PC port. Undoubtedly one of the best RPGs on Xbox 360.
-
Apr 13, 201290While not as graphically magnificent as the PC version, this game is still every ounce the amazing RPG it was on its mother platform. Get it. Now.
-
Apr 12, 2012100The best fantasy RPG on Xbox 360. The awesome atmosphere, the epic and adult storyline, the beautiful graphics and the clever gameplay are enough to turn this masterpiece into a must buy.
-
Apr 12, 201290A huge, complex and expertly written RPG that has the capacity to consume weeks, maybe even months of your life. While its roots are on the PC, it's translated effortlessly to the Xbox 360 with no compromises and stacks up well against the prettiest games on the system. It's more hardcore than Skyrim but by no means inaccessible.
-
Jun 5, 201290Engrossing and rewarding. [Issue#85, p.88]
-
May 14, 201290What impresses most is the subtle way in which each additional part has been woven into the original game. [June 2012, p.64]
-
May 10, 201290Geralt made it to consoles at last. And in what style! One of the best RPG games in years was ported to X360 almost perfectly – it looks great and plays great. What it lacks is some introduction for those who didn't have the opportunity to play the first game or read Sapkowski's books and therefore might feel lost in The Witcher's world. [June 2012, p.54]
-
May 9, 2012100A perfect conversion of the extraordinary RPG didn't lose any of its appeal and gamepad controls added an even better feel. [May 2012]
-
Apr 27, 201293Goes toe-to-tow with both Skyrim and Mass Effect 3. A knockout console debut. [June 2012, p.72]
-
Apr 16, 201294Looks and plays great on Xbox 360, too. Enhanced Edition updates round out the game nicely and add much needed new stuff to the previously pretty brief last chapter. Thankfully nothing has been censored for the consoles, and everything in the world is still as engaging and gritty as it should be. The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition is a serious contender for the best game of 2012. [Apr 2012]
