I can't say this is a must-have for golf fans. I reckon there are Tiger maniacs that'll buy it regardless, but if you're not obsessed with the Ryder Cup, I suggest trying to make do with Tiger Woods Online. If it doesn't fill your putt-sinking needs, this absolutely will.
  2. Loads of courses and the addition of the Ryder Cup make this the deepest Tiger to date.
  3. Overall there are a lot of things to do in Tiger Woods 11 which is great.
  4. All in all, it's well worth a purchase if you're yet to get into the series, and a worthy addition to the mounting pile for fans.
  5. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 offers some decent improvements over last year's game. It strikes a good balance of making the game a bit more realistic but still accessible for the more casual player.
  6. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is yet another solid outing for the franchise.
  7. A great edition even this year, but EA should now consider to change some components in the formula.
  8. Aside from a buyer-beware warning, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is a solid investment for those rainy days when you are not enjoying the real deal.
  9. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is still the definitive golf game out there, mostly because it's the only golf game out there, mini-golf not withstanding.
  10. I think a lot of players won't notice too many of this year's more subtle new additions, but will instead help themselves to the 24-player online (where you can construct your own Ryder Cup-like competitions), GamerNet challenges, online tournaments, and five new courses. That's fine, but the smaller improvements made to this year's game offer players more freedom and customizability.
  11. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 needs to learn from other golf titles like Pangya to build a better pro store and long-term reward system, and Hot Shots Golf to create a slope indicator and a precise 3-click system. But the essentials are more than covered.
  12. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is a thoroughly enjoyable sports game with accessible controls for hardcore players and newcomers.
  13. This might be the Ryder Cup Edition of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, but it is actually the closest the series has ever been to fully replicating the sport. The new changes are under-advertised, but once you get in there and start playing them, you will be pleasantly surprised at what a difference they make.
  14. Essentially, if you're relatively new to golfing simulations then I'd highly recommend starting with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 or even 09. If you're a seasoned player who wants to cast off the training wheels and take that step up in realism then Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is the game you've been waiting for.

Just like the players of the sport it's based on, the series sees gradual improvement over time through iteration, though it's fair to say a figurative shot in the arm wouldn't be unwelcome from time to time.
  16. For casual players, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 improves upon enough to provide a challenging, enjoyable experience. However, for hardcore players, the appeal of the new game mechanic changes and game modes may vary.
  17. Thanks to the new Focus-mode and some other new features Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 delivers once again as a great golfsim.
  18. EA works steadily towards making this as real as possible, and with that they are also ensuring the series feels fresh. Tiger has been surrounded by alot of turbulence off the course the last year, but on the digital green he's still king.the last year, but on the digital green he's still king.
  19. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 really feels like a fresh new game, and can easily be recommended to everyone, even if you own Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10.
  20. Players that were perfectly satisfied witgh last year's Tiger Woods game will really have only one thing to sell them on this newest iteration; the Focus system.
  21. It's still not the serious no frills golf sim a lot of fans want – but it's getting there.
  22. EA Sports' latest golf sim is a significant improvement over its predecessor in almost every way.
  23. As we expected, Tiger's polished and predictably good – more so than his real-life counterpart these days. It's not necessarily a must buy, but has plenty to keep you busy all summer long.
  24. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 focuses most of its attention on gameplay this year, keeping its traditional controls intact while adding the focus meter to the mix, which adds a nice level of strategy to the game.
  25. All of the problems are irksome rather than game-breaking, and don't have a significant impact on what is a surprisingly deep and engaging rendition of Mark Twain's "good walk spoiled".
  26. Tiger Woods 11 feels much more like a transitional entry to the franchise overall, and it's hard to imagine that the 2012 iteration of the series won't shift the focus to motion sensing devices like Kinect.
  27. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 has to be played to be believed.
  28. It's a golf game. There's very little you can do to make it awful or incredible, but this latest installment in the Tiger line found a way to improve realism and enjoyment in a product that will be subject to its most intense scrutiny to date.

Tiger Woods 11 has it where it counts in that the core golf is much better than it has been in some time. Now I'd just like the rest of the game to catch up.

While this is a perfectly competent golf game with a couple neat new features there just isn't enough going on to warrant upgrading for players who already own previous editions to the game. Only the hardest of hardcore golfers need this year's version.
  31. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 comes with the same guarantees of quality and realism of its predecessors, with exciting new features that make it the best golf simulator today.
  32. A very good golf simulator, with a high variety of gameplay, even if somewhat complex for newbies. We would have liked a better graphics, not in par with the nice environments offered by other games.
  33. 80
For serious golfers though, the high fidelity visuals and deeper pool of players online is enough to keep Tiger viable on the Xbox 360.
  34. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is too similar to the previous game to justify a full price. Nevertheless, is one of the finest golf simulations to date.
  35. While the new features are certainly interesting, the series hasn't moved on significantly enough to make it a must-have title. That having been said, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 is the best Tiger Woods game to date.
  36. If yearly sports games are like fine wines, then Tiger Woods 2011's vintage is a good one. It may not be a great year like FIFA 10 or Madden 2003, but it does follow a run of very mediocre years for the series and for this reason it's well worth a look.
  37. If you have any interest in golf, you should give Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 a serious look. It's not perfect by any stretch, but it's addictive and fun, and there's plenty to do before you'll get bored with it.
  38. Tiger Woods 11 is yet another fairly successful fine tune from EA. The game certainly does not break the mould or truly push the envelope in terms of creativity, but there are enough good ideas here to make it a worthwhile purchase, especially if you have given the last few titles the cold shoulder.

Still a great game - but a game treading water for years now. [Sept 2010, p.100]
  40. In all, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 has lots to offer gamers whether new to the series or even a jaded traditionalists like myself.
  41. 85
This year's game is probably not the most innovative when it comes to features, but the addition of True-Aim and the Ryder Cup more than justify shelling out the dough once again.

Firstly, as is always the case with EA Sports titles, very little has really changed from previous versions and as far as I'm concerned you only need buy one Tiger Woods game per console generation. Secondly it is still too arcade orientated (and easy, scores of better than 15 under par are normal) for those of us wanting a proper simulation and finally, despite Links featuring the option ten years ago, there is still no course editor/designer to be found.

Having said all that the Tiger Woods series is now the only real option for golf fans. The presentation and gameplay, including the analogue swing control introduced back in the PS2 days, are of the highest quality and I certainly spent many an enjoyable hour attempting the games online* and offline challenges.

*Online challenges now unavailable as the EA servers have been switched off.

The previews are all bad........ the putting has become impossible... the putting previews work about four times then quit, on several holes the only clubs you're allowed are twice what you need and you can't really cut down on the percentage of power in this one..... options are hard to locate and worthless in some cases.... very discouraging, in general. I myself haven't played a Tiger Woods gold game since the early noughties, and I needed a game I could chill out to following some surgery.
I bought this game and found it to be truly amazing graphically, and the gameplay was slightly difficult but had a decent learning curve which didn't take too long to master. Some nice touches like the focus metre, and the online is fairly slick and a joy to play.
