The game is a triumph in everything it aims to do: an intriguing story, breathtaking cinematography and narrative, a unique and effective combat system, extensive customization options, and a meaningful concept.
Often the cut-scenes are more compelling than the gameplay, but the game does ultimately salvage itself from being the eternal butt of Xbox 360 jokes from this point forward.
It is painful to remind myself that Too Human was and is an excellent game. It is some of the most co-op fun I had last generation. It's criminal that a game this fun with such a fresh story game-play and setting was lambasted by delusional haters and ignorant critics for no reason at all. Because of them, all those people who played and loved the game and saw the potential of what it could have become will never see another one.
Despite falling short, Too Human ends in a way that suggests there will be future games made, which will thus permit the developers to take what they got wrong and make it right.
Obvious problems (the shaky camera, poor targeting system, and inconsistent frame rate) match up with sheer annoyances (the 25-second-long, unskippable death sequences) to degrade the expectedly repetitive experience, but that’s not all that stuck in our craw. Capping the enjoyable online co-op at just two players (with no local play) seems ludicrous in this day and age; even PSO was rocking four players on a 56K connection in 2001!
I'M AN IDIOT FOR SKIPPING &'HATING ON THIS GAME...
--Guys,Gals,Haters,master race'rs,Xbox hatin PSN fans etc,,,ask yourself WHY you skipped this title...
I skipped it cause everyone hated it on it soo bad that I just assumed it was awful trash..
---The games story is worth the **** I am str8^ having a blast...I took a break from Diablo3,GTAV Online,Fallout4,Wasteland2' & ARK..I didn't take a break cause I planned to, but because I'm **** into TOO HUMAN...
--Bottom Line - you owe it to yourself to have this experience.. I did t even realize I owned it...
(Funny how games will accumulate when you stop trading them in to gamestop & start gobbling up Buy 1 get two free used **** the end I retired my 360 with 130 **** because they offered my $4. For Dead Island(just like the commercial) = so I stopped trading em in & when I looked up at my 360 & PS3 hpgame shelf it made me feel awesome & it helped me decide which ne whale to play since I had way more titles then I **** arrogance, friendly opinion....I couldn't afford any $60 **** whole stash was from sales and GameStop trade in interceptions in the parking lot...$50 for 20 used games..deal! And TOO HUMAN musta been in one of those deals cause there it was in my storage box as I was packing away my 360.....
Well where to **** checking the reviews here its very polarized some love this game and some don't. I'm still trying to figure out why because for me this game is a solid 7 rating. This could be a perfect 10 game its very fun, has tons of customization and replayability and a decent enough story with some areas of exploration and some pretty fantastic creatures/enemies and generally a nice game world. This game has so much going for it. My beef is strictly and almost exclusively the camera. It is terrible. Not to the point the game is broken but to the point its obviously the games sorespot. At times you just cannot target what you want and thats a bad thing in any game. The rest is that good to forgive this game. Its an action RPG and it made me want to play it. The action is just that fun and the game is already tempting me to another playthrough with a different character and customization options. Honestly this game reminds me of Vanquish. There is another short game that players thought was too short but was extremely entertaining to play. The difference is Vanquish is a must buy as it has a camera that doesn't obstruct the gameplay. Anyway I highly recommend considering this game at todays bargain basement price. It takes some time realizing whats possible in this game because there is that much customization but those willing to forgive the bad camera design will find a very fun game hopefully. One should also consider whether this game will become collectible as it was involved in a court dispute and copies of the game were ordered to be destroyed. The gameplay, although somewhat broken and this court issue thing make this game a must keep for my collection but I do recognize that taking three review points off a review score is a serious flaw to be considered in a game. Still I view a 7 score as a fun game worth of a playthough or at least a good look.
Too human concept offers an interesting and a fictional universe very well done. But is plagued by a limping gameplay and RPG system that, apart from the menu, provides no change to the gameplay. It would have been nice to see the conclusion of the trilogy, but given the recent work of Silicon Knight maybe it's better that the saga is dead.
The game has a terrible camera, it’s impossible to turn around and aim at the enemy normally, the levels are boring, the opponents are the same, I didn’t like the plot, during the passage of this game I wanted this torture to end faster
A bad game. A bunch of various kinds placed together in one videogame video game videogame form a soup taste bad. A gameplay bored after the first hour of play and a plot drab help to sink into oblivion this title. The original setting is the only thing that saves this play from the full failure. 10 years of development and 60 million dollars wasted.
