Gorgeous, vast, hugely atmospheric and full of undefeated soul. A Molotov cocktail of emotional narrative and explosive thrills, this is 2019's first serious Game of the Year contender.
I don't like to give masterpiece as a game title but this is one that deserves it so much. The story is immersive and engaging giving an option for stealth and going load. This is the only game I wanted to do new game plus immediately.
Unique. The Metro saga is super special for its grounded shooting mechanics and diegetic UI, like gas masks and bullet count on weapons. The story and characters are great, and grow nicely over time. The weapons and inventory system are one of the best out there, so grounded! In love with the Tikhar!Exodus takes one major leap in respect the past two games, it is a semi open world, with different big areas to explore along with more rail roaded areas. Metro still shines brighter in the Metro/ closed areas though. The environments are not too big which makes them not get too boring. The game looks, feels and sounds amazingly. It has a simple decisions system based on morality, but it could be **** world is so immersive and sometimes scary.
The conclusion to Artyom’s journey has the best gameplay and most compelling story of the series, on top of incredible visual and audio presentation. It retains the series’ simplistic stealth system and falters with control, writing and dialogue issues, but even so, Metro Exodus is an odyssey worth undertaking.
Metro Exodus takes a different approach than previous installments in the Metro-franchise. The game feels more like STALKER and that's a good thing. The only question is how much of the old Metro-soul remains. A great experience, but a different Metro.
Metro Exodus is an absolutely solid, all-around experience. Although the change from indoor to outdoor scenery is striking at first, it allows the gameplay to breathe and feel different from previous titles. The signature makeshift guns are paired well with the new crafting ability, and their lack of stopping power makes firefights meaningful and stealth sections tense. There are still issues here and there, and the presentation could be tighter, but this is a worthy sequel to a game that has earned its cult status throughout the years.
As Exodus’ story draws to a close and the pace picks up, the world becomes narrower and more directed, and a final chapter takes players to the most dangerous Metro location yet. Here Exodus exposes you to the full horror of the apocalypse, as the experience takes on a surreal, otherworldly quality. It’s an excellent conclusion – haunting, frightening, and desperately sad. Yet even in this dead and desolate place, faint embers of hope still linger.
"Between years of gray existence and a moment of hope, I choose hope." (c) Artyom "Black". "I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord And I've been waiting for this moment, for all my life, oh lord" - It was these lines of the song "In The Air Tonight" by musician Phil Collins that played in my head on the last chapter - Dead City. I remember how, still reluctantly, in December 21, I found “2033” (2010) in my library after purely by chance I took it for free, it seems in the summer of 21, and decided to pass it. I thought that this was just a corridor shooter with a plot that was essentially for show. But after the first run through the plot of the 2010 version, I was wrong, when I discovered the whole Saga of books, games, comics and the self-narrating "Ray of Hope" and "Exodus" parts of the game franchise, I just began to join in the whole topic and became a fan this series of games. Unfortunately, I knew the plot in advance when I sat down to play this masterpiece. When I watched the full walkthrough on YouTube, the gameplay confused me... Open locations, a sandbox similar to some kind of Far Cry and not cramped, creepy and mystical subway sections as it was in the two previous parts simply left me with a double and ambiguous opinion from the viewing.Well, when I got around to buying this game and upgrading my computer, I decided to sit down and play through it, to look at it from the perspective of a player and not a viewer. Well, I don’t know why I then decided for myself that this part was “nothing”, one thing I can say is that this game is simply a masterpiece, a masterpiece in terms of plot, in terms of gameplay and narration, you worry about each character as if you were your loved one and you are afraid to lose during the game. This is the thrill when you stand in the middle of some kind of loca (especially Taiga) and just peer without touching the mouse or keyboard. I have never experienced such a meditative feeling in games, this game is very addictive and you want to explore and explore, listen to the characters, read notes to learn more about the lore and everything like that. Unlike the previous parts, there is simple crafting, very worthwhile customization of barrels in which you can make, for example, a pocket double-barreled shotgun from a shotgun or a powerful, heavy shotgun with a large 12-gauge magazine. The plot, as in all parts of the metro, is just as compelling here, I would say that in “Exodus” this technique works better. As a player, I really wanted to know more and more about the lore of the inhabitants of Taiga, learn more about their past, survival after the day of judgment and everything like that. That feeling when ordinary background characters with a small story from some location leave thoughts and an aftertaste for a couple of **** does this game fit into our day in terms of morality and general perception? There are a lot of moments where this line can be traced, especially with regard to factions in locations, their vision of the world and everything like that. The Metro world itself clearly shows the darkest sides of humanity, whether at the Yamantau level or the Caspian location. There is always a need to kill and enslave, capture and terrorize someone. P.S. Is it true, a Russian who may be reading this comment?). The graphics, of course, are head and shoulders above the previous parts, and in general this game supports ray tracing technology, so it’s clear that this game is very pleasant to play thanks to this component. Reflections, glare, splashes, and everything else is pleasing to the eye. Unfortunately, you can find “fussiness” by looking at the textures. Somewhere in the Caspian Sea in the mountains this will not be difficult. But honestly, it doesn’t catch your eye at all; the overall style and graphics are as harmonious and restrained as possible. Especially with RTX. As for the bugs, there are also some jokes with some objects flying in the middle of some terrain, getting stuck in textures, a bug with a tablet in a loaf in the Caspian Sea. Already ordinary scripting, like in any metro, etc. But to be honest, for me all these are terrible little things, it does not interfere at all and does not discourage the desire to play and does not leave any bad opinion of the game. Yes, in an amicable way it would be nice if all this was fixed. I think in Enhanced this whole thing has been fixed a little. If there was an opportunity, I would give it a 12 on Metacritic. Well, I went to go through the addition :) I advise, I advise and I advise again! UPD: I finished “The Two Colonels” and “Sam’s Story”, to be honest, they didn’t seem to me such a catchy and ideal masterpiece as the main storyline. They are very good, but it was not as fun to go through as the base. But it was still interesting to go through :D
It was a good game overall I beg that you first play the first two metro games as they are some of the best games I have ever played story wise, this on the other hand is an okay game but if you played the first two this third game makes no sense as the game just forgets what happened in the first two games and opts for a new-age "open world" gameplay which we all know is just filler, now the story is descent but it feels too much like fallout with the enemies you come across like the cannibals and raiders and zombie people if I remember correctly.Basically save money get the first two which are fantastic at telling an amazing story and have excellent gameplay and leave this one for if you want a "new" experience with the metro logo.
Most mediocre game in the series. I've tried it for years but I could never get to the last chapter and endure it enough to finish it. Gameplay and the story are extremely boring. After the first two great games, such a horrible ending to the series is unbecoming. Good graphics alone do not make a game good. This is the only basis for those who praise this game. I can't take such people's opinions about games seriously. Now that I think about it, I hope whoever thought of those endless credits at every opening will never find a job anywhere in this game industry again. Even writing a review for this game would be a waste of time.
This game is the worst episode in the Metro series. in metro 2033 and last light character was not talking also but it was not too irritating like in this episode, in this episode, there is a lot of conversation which makes a huge gap in the game story, Artem's wife talks with him like he is a wall but not a person.
Guns are bad, the story is bad, and the game atmosphere is bad. only the graphics were improved everything else is bad compared to the first two episodes.
