  1. Fans of titles like Contra and the old side scrolling days will more then appreciate a new take on their favorite type of game; the added freedom, 3D models, secret areas and numerous weapons all blended nicely to create a wonderful experience for the price.
  2. The game's main problem, aside from being strictly by the numbers, is the lack of a walk button. The character always runs, an dtoo fast for the game at that. [Jan 2004, p.65]
  3. Factor in the lack of two-player action and all that's left is a tepid experience.

    I like this game. Yes, it's a little repetitive but the core gameplay is solid and very playable. It's like you're in the movie Aliens, wandering around a dark futuristic maze with scary aliens hunting you. It plays similar to 2d Contra, but with the focus on escaping the maze, instead of just moving forward. Expand
