  1. It's a stunner to look at and genuinely scared us on more than one occasion. I'm sure Darkworks would take some comfort in knowing that. But in the end it accounts for nothing, because this turkey is well and truly cold.
  2. But this overbearing sense of familiarity is what dogs Cold Fear down into the lower echelons of the genre – it just doesn't do enough to further survival horror in any way at all. In fact most of the time it just feels like a step back.

Absolutely great start to this game! - in a big storm at sea rockin' the tanker, the waves, the sea-spray, beautifully done, really excellent. The optional over-the shoulder view is so close to being FPS that there's no real difference. I'm impressed. Full Review »

This game would have been so much better if the camera angles were better and use both joysticks. The single joystick for moving and looking stinks.

Cold Fear is an excellent horror game. The atmosphere is amazing. You feel like you are on an abandoned Russian vessel infected with creatures. I have never witnessed a video game use the environment as well as Cold Fear does. The camera angles are designed that way on purpose. Do you really think that running around a dark, abandoned, rolling vessel getting slammed at sea is easy? Besides the camera angles are not as bad as people are saying they are. The game is very playable and a lot of fun. Full Review »
