  • Summary: FIFA Street is a combination of arcade action blended with the culture of freestyle street soccer. By removing the rules from the simulation soccer experience, FIFA Street exposes the heart of the world's beautiful game, on-the-ball flare and individual style. Leading this movement are the worlds top professional players, showing off their skills and individual style in 4-on-4 match-ups against the backdrop of global venues that represent the true culture of street soccer. As the first game to support dynamic 1-on-1 encounters, beating your opponent will require skill, technique, and the careful selection of specific moves. As a gamer you'll take on the best and be required to earn their respect, gradually building your reputation and team into an unstoppable force that leads the tide of street soccer. Expand

  1. It isn't even in the same league as Big's "NBA Street V3" yet (what is though?), but this first outing has without question laid the groundwork for what could blossom into a truly great series for EA.
  2. A good game that offers a well-executed, fresh approach to football.
  3. If the passion of soccer leads people to violence, then I would watch out if I were FIFA Street - the game's liable to make some people mad. [Apr 2005, p.120]

Even though I was astonished by the terrible controls, infuriated by gameplay and dismayed at the barrenness of game modes I did find myself playing this game more than was necessary to write this review. It did have a certain pull over me which I am somewhat ashamed to admit, considering the slapdash and cynical nature of the title.

The controls just aren't responsive. You'll never feel like your player is doing what you want, when you want.
  6. Lack of subtlety is FIFA Street's serious illness – and it drastically shortens the game's life. When you then begin to get tired of constantly seeing the same animations – which are supposed to be the most accomplished aspect of the game – there is little left to hold your interest.
