  • Summary: The long-running Final Fight series returns for another go with Final Fight: Streetwise. You can play as Kyle, the brother of Cody from the original series. When you find that Cody is in trouble, you must roam the streets of Metro City until the mystery is solved. Final Fight: Streetwise is a third-person game that stays true to its beat-'em-up roots but adds light role-playing elements and minigames to the fray as well. A respect system has been added so that your decisions affect how characters in the world react and relate to you. Collapse

  1. Final Fight was a classic and Streetwise is a long way from some of the crummy remakes that seem to be springing out lately, so if you're the type to go into everything fists flying, then Travers is the perfect character for you.

Unfortunately, the end result is a little more Rambo, a lot less Rocky. It's going to take a rethinking to pull the 3D brawler out of its "me too" phase, and Streetwise certainly isn't helping.
  3. 55
It is not as good as The Warriors, but if you can look past the SERIOUS glitches, its a fun, but short game.
  4. Outside of the occasional thrill of blowing some fool away with a shotgun or breaking a baseball bat over someone's head, there are no redeeming qualities to Final Fight: Streetwise. [Mar 2006, p.100]
  5. 35
The fighting system itself is has a few interesting features, but almost everything else about the game will either frustrate or annoy. The camera, the enemy A.I., almost every aspect of the graphics, the sound effects and the required mini-games are all decidedly sub-par
  6. Final Fight: Streetwise doesn't look good, doesn't play well, and it can't even get its unlockable bonus--the original arcade game--right.
  7. Instantly forgettable and certainly regrettable, this fighter is preposterously short on both brains and brawn. Here's to hoping that Streetwise listens to its title and is indeed the final Final Fight.

Don't buy this if you love Final Fight; it will ruin your perception of the series. Stick with the original SNES and Arcade versions; this is no fun. Expand

I'm a big fan of Final Fight's 1 and 2 during the SNES days, but Streetwise just killed the franchise and I think it's time for a reboot. C'mon Capcom, bring back both Final Fight and Darkstalkers the way they were. Remember Street Fighter IV? Take some notes and figure something out for new ways to bring the "f" back in fighting. This game pisses me off. It feels like they didn't know what they wanted to be. The fighting sux too. At least there's an old-school 2P Arcade Mode saving it from being a total waste. Expand
