  • Summary: Your goal in Fireblade is to annihilate terrorists around the globe. At the helm of the Carrier chopper or the Vendetta attack copter, you'll battle through 18 missions in four campaigns. Transport and rescue missions take you to a variety of lush environments, including the Swiss Alps, Arizona Desert, Amazon Jungle, and the Arctic Circle. Unleash an array of deadly weapons--including swarm missiles, sniper cannons, and laser-guided homing missiles--or disable alarms to remain undetected. Expand

  1. The story may be a little hackneyed and the missions aren't really anything innovative but conducting business in a helicopter is a blast.

Fire Blade does not have an engrossing plot, pre-rendered cinematics or a popular license. What it does have is an assload of rock solid gameplay, and an impressive game engine to boot.

A little too short for wartime veterans, and possibly too complicated for Joe Average, this arcade war-simulation probably won't attract a huge audience.
  4. To us it began to feel a little stale during the loading screen.
  5. The main problems with Fireblade are its boring weapon loadout and repetitive "kill everything" challenges. [Aug 2003, p.87]

I'm actually a big fan of the uncommon chopper genre, but i have to agree w/ michael c here. the graphics really are terrible among other things. what bugged me the most though were the controls - they're just so unintuitive. Expand

This one defines the word "suck". Take some of the weakest graphics I've seen on the XBox and couple it with shoddy gameplay, and you have this atrocity. The only reason it gets a 1 is because its the only chopper sim for the XBox. This one is definitely a pass. Collapse
