  1. The best thing about these titles was that I didn’t have to practice them in order to beat my son.
  2. Official Xbox Magazine
Without the nine keypad buttons, many of these games become unplayable. [Mar 2004, p.81]
  3. With limited memory capacity and graphical power, Intellivision games left quite a bit to the player’s imagination, and this may turn off some gamers. However, it’s interesting to see the surprising amount of depth and gameplay found in these early titles.

Fans of the system should have no reservations about picking up a copy; it was put together under the supervision of several of the console's original programmers, and their love for Intellivision shines through in the detail and polish of the package.

Utopia, which could be considered the original simulation game, is fun and easy to get into, Frog Bog is as goofy as ever, Astrosmash is frenetic, and Snafu is just plain fun! However, many of the games are rendered simply unplayable due to the limitations of the Xbox controller.
  6. 60
While Intellivision Lives accurately represents the look and sound of what gamers were playing on the system, it doesn't accurately represent the actual Intellivision experience. The only way this would be possible is with an actual Intellivision controller.
  7. Collectors will get a kick out of it for some of the extra data, but the games don’t quite have the same luster as they do when you play it on an actual unit (although "Astrosmash" is much easier to play using the PS2). d-pad)
  8. The ratio of “good” to “bad” games doesn’t justify a purchase to anyone but the hardest of the hardcore. For the casual gamer looking for a fix, this collection has next to nothing to offer.
  9. Xbox Nation Magazine
The bare-bones graphics and simplistic gameplay render this disc a painful walk down memory lane. [Apr 2004, p.83]
