It has been a while since I've had so much pure joy while playing a game.

You will forget all about the sub-par graphics and sound. You just won't care, because you're having too much fun exploring and killing and moving.
  3. It was a nice breath of fresh air to have these telepathic abilities that worked so well with the game.
  4. It's definitely not for children and it's not intended for those with a low threshold for frustration, but come on. Who doesn't love making people's heads explode?
  5. While not ground breaking in the graphics department the addition of psychic powers to your arsenal not only provides for some excellent new forms of combat it also provides for a great source of replay value.
  6. The only major complaint to be made about Psi Ops is its use of a checkpoint save system. While not always the case, this system has a way of making a bad situation worse by leaving a player with nothing save for a death wish just because they happened upon the checkpoint ill prepared.

There is so much fun to be had from torturing the enemy that at times you have to worry about your own mental state. Yet, for all the satisfaction on offer for the majority of the experience, it ultimately ends on a disappointing low.

This is an excellent game and much better than i expected it to be. The special powers are amazing and add another dimension to to normal 1st/3rd person shooter. I particularly like the way you get introduced (via training missions) throughout the game rather than all at the beginning which i think would have been confusing. I rarely finish games but i wouldn't be surprised if this is an exception. Highly recommended. Collapse

I love this game. It was the saddest day ever when I completed it. Definitely a game with a difference. I just hope that they make a follow up.

Midway had a hit with The Suffering, which I thought was one of the best I've played, but Psi Ops ROCKS!! Expand

A big surprise hit. Amazing physics, awesome sense of power. Very solid experience. Only let down is the surround sound, which is poorly implemented.

Being released so close to the mostly excellent Second Sight comparisons were always going to be made and, for me at least, Psi-Ops just comes off second best. Thats not to say that Psi-Ops is not worth playing however.

The controls are well implemented and the game encourages creative use of each of your powers throughout the game in order to defeat enemies and solve environmental puzzles. The Havok powered physics engine is also put to good use with enemies and objects flying around (semi) realistically. Psi-Ops is far from perfect of course and problems such as randomly respawning enemies and a slightly awkward camera can be frustrating on occasions. Providing you can get over these however there is a great deal of fun to be had here.
