  1. The multiplayer experience isn't so killer, however, and it's a shame because it's just brimming with potential.
  2. It's not the mind-blowing cultural phenomenon of a game experience that Halo 2, Half-Life 2 and DOOM III are (or at least promised to be, as the case may be), but it's a decent game that offers some fresh changes to the FPS genre.
  3. A shooter which genuinely does stand out from the crowd with distinction ' not an easy accomplishment for a genre which is flooded with clones and has-beens.

It's definitely one of the most unique first-person shooters on the system whether you're judging it by gameplay, graphics or sound. The gameplay is a solid mix of shoot-'em-up action, stealth, exploration, with a surprising amount of platforming thrown in.

Online's not bad at all, but certainly nothing that will keep you locked in for hours. [Jan 2005, p.68]
  6. One of the most original Xbox games I've played in a long time, not only because of the visionary graphics, but the clever intertwining of FPS action and RPG elements and more online modes than any two other games combined.
  7. A solid game built by loving hands. Obviously, the developers, when deciding to port this title to the Xbox from the PC, took their time and studied what could be done to improve the gaming experience.
  8. Tron 2.0 doesn't do much to differentiate itself other than the light RPG elements and visual style. If you were looking for another shooter (and already have "Halo 2"), Tron 2.0 wouldn't hurt but there are better buys.
  9. Sure there are some inconsistencies in the gameplay, but I was able to enjoy the game anyways because of its style and accurate reflection of the original film.
  10. I found it to be rewarding and full of replay interest. I was often frustrated to point of walking away from movement "errors," but I soon returned to the glowing world to try again.

Basically a hybrid FPS, Killer App combines straight-up shooting with some of the classic Tron universe vehicles like the light cycles.
  12. A very solid game, especially for one that was released over a year ago on the PC. The transition to the Xbox was flawless, and the added multiplayer maps are just icing on the cake.

The game-play is so-so, the character system is gimmicky, the level design is linear like a bad mid-nineties title ( everything must be done in order or doors won't open, etc ), cutscenes cannot be skipped even though they rarely do much for immersion. Perhaps worst of all is that load-screens are both ubiquitous and never-ending. And since death comes swiftly and often, expect even more load-screens. In other words, forget about any feeling of narrative momentum. I wouldn't get this unless you have Buddha-level patience, feel like doing your taxes between levels, or are OCD about the Tron franchise. Full Review »
