  1. Single-player is utterly forgettable, but the online play is much smoother and more solid than what most of us have come to expect out of a $30 under-the-radar release. [May 2006, p.98]
  2. The fact that they're still getting mileage out of the awesome Unreal engine makes me smile quite a bit.
  3. Common and uninteresting, this game stands out only in that one of the factions eerily like Cylons from Battlestar Galactica.
  4. Up to 16 people can play online but don't expect that many to show up for a war. Fortunately you can play with as little as one extra person online - and that may be the best you can hope for.
  5. Sadly, Warpath just does not rise above its awkward controls, poor character classes and mediocre gameplay nor does it offer anything that comes close to rivaling the collection of excellent multiplayer first-person shooters already available on the original Xbox.
  6. You'll probably find a couple hours of fun in WarPath but overall, it's really only worth a rental when there are so many other superior shooters out there at the same (or even cheaper) price.
  7. The game definitely has its moments, but you'll have to play a lot longer than you probably want to if you want to experience half of them.
  8. What little fun comes in short bursts and is hindered by its awful controls and uninteresting single-player campaign mode.
  9. As a cheaply priced, multiplayer-focused first-person shooter, Warpath is serviceable, if utterly unremarkable.
  10. If you're a gamer that has not made the leap to the 360, must have a new shooter, and don't mind playing with idiotic bots, this game would offer the chance to run through the FPS basics and nothing more.
  11. A generic shooter at best. [Oct 2006, p.76]

Even the bots on the hardest difficult suffer from noticeable A.I. issues, so if this one's to be played at all it should be online.

It's impossible to recommend a multiplayer shooter that no one plays. If no one's playing now, just after release, rest assured no one will be in a month.
