Zathura isn't a particularly bad title; it just lacks anything that puts it above most other recent releases.
  2. Regardless of the fact that it is a kids game, Zathura really doesn't do anything more than create bad frame rate issues and a straining time on anyone.
  3. Ultimately Zathura is a full priced game with the least amount of play value I've seen in recent memory. An average gamer would get through this adventure in a few short hours which means for goodness sakes, rent this one if you're itching to play the movie.
  4. Don't you have some bottle-cap collecting or laundry to be doing? Either will be much more fun than playing this game.
  5. While the movie wasn't quite original, the game didn't fare all that well either, bogged down by lame characters, uninspired gameplay and dull visuals.
  6. This is a short, tired, and ineffectual piece of work that is best left forgotten.
  7. While the developers of Zathura tried hard to make a solid movie-to-game conversion, when it comes down to brass tacks the game just isn't all that good.
  8. A brief and generic action game that does nothing to distinguish itself from the glut of similar--and cheaper--games on the market.
  9. It is rushed, cheap looking, repetitive and gets old fast, and for the price it's not worth it.

The laughable A.I., boring level design, pedestrian graphics, and tattered story make this a game that should be avoided by young and old alike.

Zathura unfortunately adds to the ever growing list of bad games based on children's films. This is rather sad because I believe given time, a decent budget, and a talented development team, the story of Zathura could make a good game.
  12. Couple all these problems and shortcomings with the fact that the game can probably be beaten in less than five hours for even the most inexperienced of gamers and you have a game that should've started out as a budget title.
  13. Playing Zathura is like being force-fed Saddam Hussein's skid-marked underpants. And we find that kind of thing really upsetting.
  14. The puzzles aren't overly challenging, the enemies don't pose much of a fight, and the overall experience is lacking some much needed "punch". Not the worst movie to game translation, just uninspired and clearly looking for a payday.
  15. Kids have done this all before over and over again in more distinct and sleeker settings. Besides the cool runaway Robot sequences there's nothing that's challenging, innovative or eye-catching about Zathura.
