Although it's grotesque to see pre-teens stomping in underground warehouse-battle settings, at least Battlefield America's racial politics are interesting.

If you're looking for a tough, streetwise film about urban kids who get together to enter a national hip-hop dance competition, Battlefield America is not your movie.

The editing in Battlefield America is super-speedy: Each shot lasts about three seconds, and then it's off.

A picture so thoroughly generic as to suggest a contraption assembled from spare parts with the aid of a how-to manual.

  1. Movies such as Battlefield America, are all about the dance. Understand that before you view the movie. The acting is going to suck. But, the dance sequences should be ferry good. I didn't think seeing little kids in fatigues was grotesque, as s a movie critic stated. It is a costume for the performance. It is all about the dancing. I thought the camera shots were very fast, and could have been done much better. Remember, it's about the dance. Collapse
