SusieQJun 24, 20073This WAY under-edited film serves only to trivialize the true horrors of this very serious issue. Extremely over-acted and cheesy.

SalsamDec 4, 20062It's lame- the movie tries to convince us that the characters and the filmmakers do care about this topic, but it just feels like a March movie with an Awards season release date. If you loved CRASH, you'll love this stinker.

EdwardTDec 7, 20063lame, tooo long, good performances especially from Djimon, but so pretentious too much moral stuff in there that was misleading into a catasthrophic mess.

SaulR.Dec 9, 20064A powerful and gripping film about an important subject with excellent performances from both its stars which unfortunately and needlessly veers into anti-semitism in its depiction of Jewish diamond merchants. Leo DiCaprio gives a terrific performance (as always), and Jennifer Connelly's turn will surely be remembered come Oscar time.

Feb 19, 20120This movie, it is not too good. Main character is obvious rip off of American movie guy John Rambo, and for some reason looking for pink color glass, claiming is pink diamond. Diamonds are not pink, is dumb anyone think so, just as pistol grip do not belong on fine Kalashnikov.
-
88Not that Diamond skimps on the social commentary; far from it. But it makes its points without too much breast-beating, caching its polemic within a tough-minded entertainment.
-
70To the unlikely role of a Bogart-esque reluctant hero, Leonardo DiCaprio brings an intensity that compels even when the script falters.
-
60Africa's enduring sorrow is ripe for drama, but Blood Diamond is, finally, a fitting metaphor for the gems: Potentially brilliant from a distance, but upon closer inspection, one likely will see the flaws.
