A preposterous erotic thriller from the Basic Instinct fingernails-ripped-my-flesh school, Body of Evidence is shamelessly — and, on occasion, amusingly — unadulterated trash.
Many say there is no chemistry between Willem Dafoe and Madonna during the sex scenes; but is not so! Madonna personally chose Willem as a partner and they rehearsed all the sex scenes, locked up in a hotel room for about two weeks (source IMDB) and I leave room for the imagination ... In the film Madonna doesn't use stunts and scenes sex (which are the most interesting part of the film) are absolutely on the verge of the explicit; as in the infamous Candle-Champagne; scene in which Madonna is about to whip up old Willem and then begins to ride him, enjoying and panting with pleasure; it is clear that Dafoe is aroused and his **** is erect!
It is clear that the main protagonist is the Materila Girl: beautiful, sexy and absolutely erotic and uninhibited, as she is expected from a femme fatale like Rebecca (the character played by Madonna).
A courtroom drama built around the charge that Madonna's body is a deadly weapon with which she 'fornicated' a man to death, this showcase for the singer-thesp as femme fatale is more silly than erotic.
