Style elements in this need to be taken less literally much of it was for atmosphere and sybolism as well as entertainment (it is a movie!) the underlying attitude of this thing is what is important and what resonates...symbolically and thus spiritually...holding forth firmly and with conviction...but letting go with that same conviction....navigating the possibilities with sincerity...and courage...a bit like that serenity prayer... I found myself at the end of this film wondering if I'd enjoyed it...and the fact that I had to ask meant I probably didn't. The film was just a little too odd for me. It was comedy I wasn't really into. I think, and openly admit, that I probably just didn't get it! The strange thing is that I was kept glued to my seat for the whole film?... The characters, while a little disturbing, were also engaging and interesting. For me, a hard film to rate. It didn't make me laugh, but it did make me care, so I'll give it 5. Expand

This film is not funny. Definitely mis-categorized as a comedy. It's more like a quirky, alternative film. The ending is a bit of a fizzle rather than a bang which is what it really needed but the storyline itself is interesting. It's funny in a quirky way rather than a haha way and definitely worth watching.

It's a one-joke premise that ultimately wears thin, but Krueger works some playful variations on a theme.

But one can only imagine how different the film might have been with, say, Parker Posey or Catherine Keener -- truly funky actresses with some real edge -- in the lead.
  3. Graham maintains a casual charm throughout it all, but she lacks the kind of emotional depth that might have pulled this hodge-podge together.
