  • Summary: Adapted from a story by H.P. Lovecraft. A Seattle history professor, drawn back to his estranged family on the Oregon coast to execute his late mother's estate, is reacquainted with his best friend from childhood, with whom he has a long-awaited tryst.     The film is creepy, I'll give it that, but it also has that smalltown, dramatic bend.

    Cthulhu isn't awful, but it isn't particularly compelling either.

    Cthulhu (kuh-THOO-loo) shows that you can't go home again. Seriously: Don't ever go home -- you'll be sorry.
