You do not give a movie this amazing anything below 90/100 or 9/10, so **** you u ****! it has an original story line along with amazing acting and a well written script. Robert downey jr shows he can do more then just play a overly intelligent person who is massively arrogant, also Zach Galifianakis has been put into a role perfect for him again! the fact this go 51/100 and 5.2/10 makes me sick!
Todd Phillips' follow-up to the most successful R-rated comedy of all time serves up its share of laughs while not actually providing a terribly enjoyable time because of a queasy undercurrent that never goes away.
This movie was amazing! Todd Phillips is the best comedy directer ever. I could stop laughing throughout this movie. Zach Galifanakis is probably one of the greatest comedians alive. I went to go see this movie with my friend just to waste some time, and now this is my favorite movie. The movie had an excellent story line, just like the hangover. Whoever did not like this movie does not have a sense of humor. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!
A pretty outrageous comedy that is the equivalent of a sweaty overlong roadtrip of misfortunate events. It is rapid fire comedy, sometimes obnoxious, often exhausting, but in this barren comedy landscape this film is standout. Worth a watch if you like either Galifinakis or the other guy.
Due Date is no Hangover, but I did laugh a lot. The film is very funny, but once the credits have begun to roll, I didn't feel content. I felt like there should've been something more, maybe the addition of a few more characters?
I thought this was a rather bland movie. The plot felt pretty tedious and predictable and the comedy was rather awkward and not particularly funny overall. This movie is basically a case of a somewhat antisocial businessman having alot of bad luck, being paired (not through choice) with a more happy go lucky guy whom of course clash, so its like a regular buddy movie with both people having very different personalities and outlooks and having to learn about each others backgrounds while their on their long road trip. To be honest, I didn't feel particularly keen on either of the main characters, so it didn't work too well as a movie for me personally. Ethan comes across as too much of a nuisance live wire and Peter is too uptight and snappy for my liking. Some of the scenes are a bit crude and I didn't think the script was particularly good, it felt like a movie thought up by a bored teen for bored teens and right enough, I suppose it contains the odd laugh and is probably likeable enough for those who want something slightly diverting to watch for an hour and a half, although to me its really not a memorable movie and both of the main cast members have been in better made movies I reckon, Robert Downey Jnr in particular. Zach Galifianakis is probably most well known for playing one of the characters in the successful 'Hangover' movies and this movie features similar crude content but didn't seem as slick.
On the plus side, I thought the two main actors were well cast, as Downey Jnr. can easily play the impatient, neurotic type well and Galifianakis does well in portraying the more laidback eccentric loner type. Other cast members include Jamie Foxx as one of Peters friends, coming across as a very self assured guy, as he would and also Juliette Lewis who plays
Content wise, there's moderate violence, strong language, sexual references and drug references, including scenes where their stoned. There are some action scenes involving car accidents which are quite exciting to watch but they are a bit few and far between.
I think some might find it relatively funny and there are a few fairly amusing scenes, so I suppose overall its ok but I didn't think it particularly stood out or was otherwise memorable and I certainly wouldn't want to watch it again. I thought it was quite formulaic and found myself cringing at points when I could tell what was coming, though for younger viewers they might get more out of it, I suppose. I thought the ending was a bit confused, a change of tone and not great either, I'd say.
Funnily enough, overall no, I wouldn't. I didn't feel this was a particularly memorable movie, the plot wasn't great and the comedy wasn't the best either, there are better similar movies that you could watch and probably get more from, so I wouldn't recommend this particular title.
Rarely funny and very uneven. Despite the likability of Downey and Zach, they couldn't rise above the unfunny material. There were too many jarring tonal shifts that felt extremely clumsy. It's a shame these two talents were wasted on such forgettable material.
